Video Tearing and Flashing

I have an ATI card. I'm experiencing tearing and flashing. What function in the Catalyst control panel would address that?

Prior to experiencing the tearing, I reset performance to default. This was a good thing, because it doesn't crash anymore, but now I have the tearing which seems to get worse the longer I play the game.

Try setting it to application controoled in CCC?
Try setting v-synch ingame?
