TEd release date announced! Rally Point Episode 2

Great news! The TEd looks simple enough to use at least for basic things, which is good. Quite looking forward to this.

Question - is it possible to add 3D models to the drop down list of buildings etc?

(Elliott reminds me of Ian Wright from those travel shows )

Seeing as this is an in-house tool would you guys consider publicly releasing the source code so modders could tweak it for backwards compatibility with previous TW games? Or privately letting a group of modders with the programming skills do the job for you? I'm making the assumption you haven't budgeted to make this backwards compatible yourselves.

I fully support this idea. Same suggestion for a campaign map editor: perhaps the community could make one if you help them.
By the way, you said several times it would be difficult because it requires third party licences. Can you tell what licences are needed and for what? Perhaps the modders who really want to use it could acquire the necessary licences, or find an equivalent?

ok, those maps created looked smallish .. ?? or were the mountains just huge?

I'll probably wait for Rome 2 to released before building maps - Allia, Zama, etc etc.
