    Default Shogun laptop for £500

    Hi

I'm looking for a gaming laptop for £500 ($800) that can play shogun at decent settings.

If any one can point me in the right direction id really appreciate it.

Also, at what setting can I expect to play shogun at on a laptop in that price range?

    Thanks for any help.

That is going to be tough, for that amount of money. Look on Ebay. need to have a lappie with atleast a 460m imo.

I bought my laptop for around £700 just over a year ago. Assuming tech works the way it does, you could probably buy the same specs for around the £500 your looking for. Intel i5 core, 6gb RAM and a 1gb graphics card. Doesn't run at huge unit size on full settings but it does the job.

Here's an HP at the spec and ££ mentioned

HP Pavilion g6-1369ea 15.6 inch Laptop PC (Intel Core i5-2450M Processor, RAM 6GB, HDD 640GB, Windows 7 Home Premium)

    There's this dell for £500

And here's a comparison of sorts for lappy gfx (including S2)

I've no idea about laptop gfx, but you can certainly get a very nice laptop for £500 brand new.

Dell inspirion 15R, this is the closest equivilant to the one I bought.

The other way to do it would be to look at sites such as PC world (or the US equivalent) and see what more expensive laptops are reduced in price to the kind of budget you are looking at. i.e. My sister bought a laptop originally priced at £1000 for around £700.

Looks decent for the job, though is £20 over budget. I would guess medium-ish settings. Perhaps wait for the Ivy-bridge laptops to come out with hd4000 graphics which ought to be good enough to run the same settings, as well as lower power consumption. Nonetheless, it seems a good enough deal

Basically I would go for the AMD apu/cpu version of the dv6 or the asus A something something that comes with the aforementioned AMD apu/cpu, basically that will give you more bang for your buck regarding gpu, and both come with the 6750m or without it, it can be bought around your budget.

The problem is that with your budget you are going to settle either for a amd apu/cpu or a base intel with just the HD 3000, which can run shogun2 on low, its not pretty, I have one. The amd will give you around medium to high settings or more in the low res that comes with those laptops.
