are generals going to be able to be recruited like in some other mods? or are they basically just family members? if not its pretty easy to mod myself, but it would be a nice feature.
btw sweet preview!![]()
They are just family members (most true to the era) but the bodyguard units consist of the elite troops for that faction, ie. myrmidons for phthia, and these like all elite units are recruitable separatly.
we have not talked about recruitable generals as in SPQR 6.1, but it may be worth doing at the highest level, if at all. I understand the need for it, but it make the game more challenging, and I do not want to exploit the AI more than we already are, but its definitely on my to do list, which grows longer as we near closer to the release.
well im pretty sure ( but heck if i know) that its easy to do, you just put the generals unit into the export building files, and when you recruit one it'll just give you the general along with it, or at least thats what happened when i tried doing it myself in another mod. >shrugs< who knows though.
The point is though that it wouldn't be too accurate for the era and with generals being very powerful in troy the last thing we want are loads of them for each faction.
ah ok thats makes sense, ok not so easy a thing to doOriginally Posted by Zhuge_Liang

it can be done, quite easily, and i would say it would unbalance the game. This mod will be for like RTW than all these other mods, like ITW. It will be simple, user friendly, and not overly complicated to play. We want to achieve a great gaming experience without the user feeling daunted by the sheer size of the mod.
