I think people have done this already. Try checking out Tony's review thread, I think it may have been stated there. They basically said you have a horrible economy (like -30,000 a turn, dont know if thats true) but that you have a huge population for your army. So was it just editing the strat file, or was there another file which needed to be edited (like in BI for some factions)?

go to:

download the mod i made, and copy and paste descr_strat into
C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\alexander\data\world\maps\campaign
aned wahla. you got persians playable :original:

It doesn't matter that the Persian economy is in the toilet. The Persians have so many troops and a large Navy at the start of the campaign that it's easy to squash the Macedonians and kill Alexander after about 5-10 moves.
