    Default Newcomer to PC building

Okay, so I've had enough of awful laptops, and I've got time on my hands.

I'm looking to build a decent (runs games averagely well) gaming PC for no more than £500, lower if possible.

Looking for any advice as I've never done this before. Got people who can help me put it together, just need some suggestions as to what how much to spend on what parts, which GFX cards are good for what money, what CPUs are good value/can run games well.

We're not talking running Crysis at ultra-high, we're just talking running games on even low-ish settings.

    Thanks.

I'd be more help but frankly I feel to awful to think very hard.

i7 or i5 processor around 2.8Ghz without overclocking
PCI Express video card with anywhere from 512-1GB-on and on of video ram, DDR3(GDDR preferred) or more with however many bits you can get I guess.
    4-8GB of DDR3 RAM
A motherboard that has slots listed for all that.
A tower that can fit all that and has the right ATX form fit for your motherboard.
Then a power supply that can run all that.

Thanks man, i'll save that for future references. I'm pretty bad at knowing what is better than what, but the internet has everything I need.

You're better off advising him te get a cheap intel processor than getting an amd-fx one. An I5-2400 or lower perhaps.

What screen size are you using? Are you in the uk...?

I guess you got no parts to re-use so it's a complete build including a monitor?

(i'll list you a build later on)

I can probably get my hands on a monitor for nothing as I have a relative who has literally a house full of computer parts (used to run a repair business and has at least 5 computers, always replacing the monitors too with fancy ass new things.)

    Thanks man!
