I would like to share with you an Anatolian Lament/Folk Song; Yemen Türküsü. It is dedicated to fallen soldier sons at Yemen of Anatolian people that sent to far corners of an crumbling empire to die.
I found four different formats of it to share; first one is a rock adaptation from Şebnem Ferah. Second one is an instrumental adaptation using ney an end-blown flute. Third one is at original form of Anatolian folk songs. The last one is a modernised folk song format, a duet of İbrahim Tatlises (living legend of Anatolian folk songs, a Kurdish-Arabic Turk) and Bülent Ersoy (living legend of Classical Turkish music, a transgender, a women born as a man).
Here the youtube vids; you can here listen the sad sad story and laments of mothers who sent their sons to die and never to return, to serve a crumbling empire.
