I am completely stunned. I agree with you Halie Satanus. I grew up listening to the Beastie Boys. I can remember when Licensed to Ill was released. Dohhh!!! I think that I just showed my age. Anyhow, my friends and brothers played the Beastie Boys like they were going out of style, which they never really did. I think that I just cried a little bit .

    RIP MCA.

There's definetly a pattern emerging here. I stay getting interested in Etta James and start listening to her songs on Youtube, not 3 hours later she dies. Last week I gained an interest in Intergalatic by the Beastie Boys and started listening to it on Youtube, and now.......

    RIP

They said that MCA's cause of death was an overdose of coolness.

You can listen to classical music, since those composers are already dead.

Unfortunately cancer gets everyone. You can't escape it. A shame.

I would have wondered how much better they would have made the world had they all been alive still... he died so young, with so much more to give yet.

I just started listening to Beastie Boys last year... it was so depressing to hear of this, I wish I had lived my life listening to Beastie Boys, instead, I only get like one year and one of the members has to die....

I liked their music, but didn't care much for their bad boy act. Still all in all a very influential group

    What do you mean "loved"?

Hello Nasty is actually the first CD I ever purchased with my own money.

Well thanks for making me feel old, mango.

Anyhow, most will not remember the absurd campaign from the typical groups, against the BBoys back in early 90's. I got to see them back in the mid 90's, and had to lie to my parents about where I was going. That was the most bass I have ever heard at a show. And actually, whomever their sound-guy was, he was incredible overall. Easily one of the best shows I have ever heard live. I wanna say that NIN opened for them.
