    Default Factions of 2.5

    Ugh yeah, I was wondering..

I read that for 2.5 - 0 turn they have the bosphorun kingdom, the kingdom of syracuse and capua as playable...

Then it said that Massilia was the only new faction for 1 turn. Did I get this wrong?

If not, why are there differences?

You are partially right, Bithnyia, Massalia and Galatia are playable as 1-turn. Bosporus, Capua and Syracuse as 0-turn (or something like that), anyway there are 3 0-turn and 3 1-turn.

    Why are there differences?

Is it to do with unit quality vs recruitment time or wut?

I've played both Massalia and Capua on 1 turn so im not sure if you just named the factions wrong or what. I'm pretty sure they aren't limited to 1 turn or 0 turn.

As far as unit quality goes Capua has basic cohorts and triarii kinda like Rome but also has Campanian(sp) cav. They lack a decent navy though and can only recruit biremes. Massalia has a mix of greek and celt units and is quite diverse. Although they lack strong cav they do have a decent selection to make up for it.

Imo Capua is a little more challenging but Massalia is a bit more fun in battles.

I cant speak for the rest of the factions as I have yet to get around to them.

Ok so i tested it out and yes there are 3 1 turn and 3 0 turn.

1 turn - Capua Galatia Massalia
0 turn - Bithynia Bosporus Syracuse

Personally I have no idea why you would limit a faction to either 0 or 1 turn. If someone like me who only plays 1 turn wants to play Syracuse for example Im SOL. I will never have the pleasure of playing 3 factions in this game that the devs put many long hours into creating because I refuse to fight battles that are meaningless. Maybe there was an explanation that I missed somewhere but it seems that this wasn't thought through very well.

I dont mean to appear ungrateful. I love this mod and many thanks to the RS team.

Basically RSII is not yet finished.

What you are playing is essentially an 'open beta'.

If you want to wait for the mod to be finished it may be many months or even years away. There aren't as many people working on RSII as there were when it was being developed. There certainly aren't any moddlers around and dvk901 is doing most of the work.

There was even a lack of people to test the beta of RSII.5 which is one of the reasons why it's an open beta.

Forgive my stupidity but where is the edit button? Most forums i am active on have it right under your post. A quick look around to find such a button comes up empty.

You probably need more posts on the forum before it becomes available. I don't remember how many posts you need, but once it's available it will be on the bottom right of your post near the quote and reply buttons.

Regardless, nobody answered why there are differences, since essentially you play a totally different game on 0 turn.

Because of time and man-power. As Brusilov answered, there are very few developers working on this now. Do you seriously have a problem that you really must play one of the other factions in 1 turn? Enjoy what is available.

I don't even have 2.5 installed. I'm just curious as to why there are different factions for two different turn times for the same game. I mean, surely it would have been simpler to have the same 3 new factions for both 0 and 1 turn? or did I overlook something?

Either way, I'm just curious as to why?

I suggested unit type vs recruitment time - e.g factions with a strong/semi affordable troop becoming spammable in 0 turn.....
