He is helpful, he never lost his temper even in sensitive topics, and he exhibits all the qualities I look for in a candidate: politness, maturity, interest in the site's mechanisms and good mood.

He has, Garbarsardar assures me, no usernotes either. So here he is.Originally Posted by Tony83
Dear Garb,
First of all let me thank you again for offering to propose me for elevation to Civitate. I must confess that when you first suggested it I didn’t know what a Civitate was, even though I’d been dipping in and out of TWC for ages. Now that I’ve looked into it in more detail all I can say is that I feel honoured to be asked and absolutely chuffed!
I began visiting the various TW related forums soon after I got hooked on Rome and found them by accident (over two years now!); first for hints on how to play the game and then mostly for news and mod downloads. But I didn’t think of registering with them until 3 months ago and to be honest I’m still not sure why I did, because it’s not the sort of thing I normally do.
However, having registered, I began looking at the boards more closely and started making a few tentative contributions of my own. Of the three, it seems that TWC is the one that I’ve gravitated towards. Initially, I was uncertain as to why TWC was edging ahead of the others when it came to the time I spent on them. That was until I read Siblesz’ piece on what makes a successful forum.
Sib’s essay made me realise that TWC is far more than a collection of young gaming geeks or computer nerds (although parts of me qualify me as both – lol). It’s more of a microcosm of life itself and friendship, where anything and everything is up for discussion. I thought that I would be spending my time in the gaming threads but it’s turned out that they use up less than 10% of my time.
In fact I’m truly amazed at some of the threads that I participate in. They seem to range from the sublime to the ridiculous; from deadly serious to the utterly frivolous. Now that’s something that probably wouldn’t happen elsewhere!
So what would I contribute to the civitateship? Just me I’m afraid. I’m no intellectual and I’m not academically inclined, but I am passionate, and I firmly believe that with privilege and power comes responsibility. I’ve also a mischievous sense of humour, which I’m sure you will have noticed already in some of the threads I’ve contributed to *cough*. But that’s me in a nutshell: a mass of contradictions.
You asked for a paragraph Garb, and I’ve got carried away again. I hope you’ll forgive me.
Take care
Tony
