Game displaying every character's name

I.don't know if this is the right forum to post this, but is there a way to turn this off? It's kind of annoying, thank you for your help

Press Ctrl+N for activating/deactivating character labels.
Press Ctrl+T for activating/deactivating settlement labels.

As you can see , my problem is that every merchant , diplomat , captain name on the campaign map shows up and that is annoying. How can I get rid of it?

Find your preferences .cfg file. If you're just playing vanilla Medieval II and not a mod, it will be called medieval2.preference and it will be located in your main Medieval II folder. Inside the file, you will see these lines.

label_characters = 1
label_settlements = 1

If you want to get rid of constant character labels, set the first one to 0. If you want to get rid of constant settlement labels, set the second one to 0 as well.
