Roma Surrectum 2.1a Campaign Bug or Glitch?

Hey guys I just joined up and I recenlty downloaded Roma Surrectum II and ran into a bug or glitch. Also I downloaded and installed the 2.1a patch.

OS - Windows 7 Home Premium
RTW Version - 1.5
Not using Steam
C:\Users\****\Desktop\Roma Surrectum II
Launcher options - Rome, RomeTW.exe, Vegetation Quality = low

It looks like your graphic card is struggling to handle things.

From this review (here) it appears as if this card is not designed as a gaming card but to watch movies with. Also as R:TW is such an old game it's probably not making the most of what the card does have.

Try and turn down the eye-candy on the options menu and see if that makes a difference.

Well with Rome Total War Vanilla this does not happen at all and with other mods, I will turn down the graphics to see if that helps,

RS maxes what you can with the graphics and this engine, so that it does not occur on vanilla and other mods isn't really as good comparison.

The skins in mods are higher quality than you see with vanilla R:TW. So, it puts more of a strain on your system.

What settings would you recommend? Also by other mods I mean Rome: Europa Barbarorum and Rome Total Realism. Sorry I am new to this mod so forgive me if I sound like a noob.

Even the RSII map is of higher quality than the vanilla R:TW campaign map.

Well the settings to use are very dependent upon the hardware and the condition of the PC.

There used to be a thread that explained 'good playing practices' on how to maintain your PC but I can't find it anymore.

The combination of graphic settings to use can be dependent upon personal preferences. Even with the PCs I had back when R:TW was first released I could not run with everything maxed out. I preferred 'epic' (huge unit sizes) to 'eye-candy' (screen resolution, grass, vegetation) etc.

1) Drop the screen resolution
2) turn off Anti-Alaising in-game
3) turn vegetation down

Thanks for the advise, the black lines goes away after a battle or just after a while. I think my graphic card can handle it. I can good enough fps, only drops down to 25 when I zoom in on a lot of units.
