believe it or not, the japanese also have their own form of martial arts for using the bayonet, it is called: "jukendo"What CA... "too lazy to do?" "overlooked?" or "overcomplicate so they do not realize it is very simple to implement?"
it was introduced in japan during the meji restauration (so after after boshin war). back then it was called
"jukenjitsu". after the second world war it was banned by the allies, but later returned predomenantly as a sport. the techniques are based on "sojutsu" (spear fighting). (a bayonet is nothing else but a rifle turned into spear for close combat)
so my guess is that ca wanted to motion capture some jukendo martial arts techniques and ran out of time or recources. but certenly not out of boredom or disinterest

Wow this is awesome stuff and I am glad to see it has survived as an art all of these years.Yes,I am willing to agree that this is what CA wanted to implement for the bayonet combat, which obviously is much different thant that which was used during the eras CA made anims for previously
The sword bajonet (Yatagan) was used only for the Chassepot rifle. For the other weapons (rifled muskets, snider-enfield) spike-bayonets were used.
Is it possible to change the bayonet model?
I thought the spike bayonet reappeared in the 20th century?
And the Yatagan variant, popular.
a popular variant in the 19th century featured sinuous, S-curved blades like those found on the Balkan's and Middle-East's sword called the yataghan.

who cares! it looks awsome! i wanted this since i saw how stupid royal marines with sabers and infantry with katanas look like!Is it possible to change the bayonet model?
i love it, and i`m going to enjoy this quite a lot.
thank you very much to IGdood!
now just imagine the rifle cav, having the yari cav melee animations?
i bet you all know that animation in wich the yari cav throws the yari into the footsoldiers stomache, the horse jumps towards him, and the guy on the horse pulls it out again.
that would look stupid but somehow awsome.
"why shoot with a rifle? when you can throw one with a bayonet fixed to it?"
Doing God's work. I'll download this when I start playing FoTS again.
Just found a picture on another website: 10000 Bayonets Support A Single Throne, literally!

I know it was the emperor, but still, the hell?!
And yes, any model form the intro movie can be used. That's why there was that one mod that had the farmer models with swords.
