Default Benefits of ''the year of the 5 good emperors mod'' ontop of 2.5 Beta

Hi...basically I was wondering ...I heard there was a garrison script thrown into the 2.5 Beta now.

First question - What are the benefits of using the *years of the five good emperors* mod with the 2.5 Beta?
I mean, are there any differences anymore?
I use neither 2.5 or the emperors mod...

Second question - Which one should I install first? if I want to use both...I wasn't sure if some files were going to overwrite the others...

    Thanks

The Five Good Emperors submod is NOT COMPATIBLE with 2.5 Beta.

If you want to play FGE, install RS 2.1 and patch it with FGE, if you want to play RS 2.5, install it. But donīt combine them.

Apart from that: FGE is focused solely on Rome, and it creates a very long and hard campaign for roman players. RS 2.5 can be played with many factions, 20 normal factions + 6 swap factions. The trait system was overworked, introducing offices like the Consul, with consular elections every year, or Military careers. If I were you, Iīd play RS 2.5.

Does 2.5 incorporate much or any of FGE?

And is it superior to FGE?

The garrison script is the only thing I can think of at the moment.

Comes down to opinion - I personally would say yes. Hopefully FGE will be adapted to the next version of RS.

What exactly causes issues between FGE and 2.5?

traits for one, script for two, and probably a whole lot of other things among them the descr_strat and other important files. I'd go with 2.5.

I think this is not entirely correct... see the quotes below:

BTW, the Patch does not remove anything, it only changes existing files or adds.

I am practicing RSII 2.5 now, the FGE campaign is pending until Christ have the update to it. FGE make more pressure when trying to expand Roman Teritory, but I am now preferring loyalty trait and many new things in version 2.5

Excuse me but this thread title says "the year of the five good emperors". Im fairly sure you mean five good emperors, because the "year of the four emperors" is somewhat completely different

    Just saying

FGE is a much slower grinding campaign than Vanilla RS. Money is alot tighter as well.

RS2 is already long and drawn out as it is, not that I dislike it. I think the pace of RS2 without FGE is probably the best. FGE may be a step too far. I mean, there are only so many hours in the day, lol.

That said, I didn't try FGE yet. I'll probably try 2.5 sometime soon.

Just so people know, and hopefully Chris10 won't object (), but I will be including an alternate script file for the two Roman campaigns that incorporates much of what Chris10 scripted. By the looks of it, it will be for the stout-hearted, however, because it does some tough stuff.
