    DEFINING features, at a glance.


    Greetings fellow members of TWC or lurker of TWC! (I refuse to say konichiwa.)

    You might be wondering, or interested on what this "overhaul and compilation mod" is. Is it one of those that brandishes "realism" or new gameplay features that aims to improve the vanilla like Darth, TROM or Radius.

    "Meh, the other 3 already did those, whats different with this?
    EXACTLY! What is different with this? This thread aims to address that as quickly and decisively as possible so as to not further delay you from the awesomeness that awaits.

    First off is the name of the mod. SEKIGAHARA Campaign.

    "Yeah. That historical battle thing during the demo, played it a couple of times. Damn that backstabbing guy Kowabakaya something its name......wait why you call it campaign?"
    ......Right, I'll ignore that slight you did with the clan name..... Moving on, yes the mod centers around the events before and during the period of the Sengoku Jidai called the Sekigahara Campaign.

    In more simple terms.

    The Sekigahara Campaign mod is first and foremost an ALTERNATE SCENARIO MOD. The first of its kind as far as I am aware. So let us list what are the things ALTERED.

    The campaign,
    the clans,
    the clan symbols,
    the clan positions,
    the clan names,
    the clan daimyos,
    the clan specialties,
    the clan units,
    the buildings

    etc....

    Meh. Some mods offer those as well, I mean there are alternate color mods, to bring out better clan colors and stuff like I hate the Shimizu neon green and stuff like those big baggy things on their back. Then yeah new units as well like cool ones like those samurai girls on horseback
    .......Ugh....its ShiMAzu and the horo....

    Yes, those mods offer that as well, and yes they are awesome, I myself play them but this is where the "Seki" mod differs.

    Take a gander of its clan list.

    I dont see the point......What? You colored them Takade guys green or something? I honestly prefer them red.

    Big deal... you recolored some minors, and the playable ones still are the same color. I mean sure Tokugawa is different but so does other mods........
    Yes the vanilla clans are there however notice something different? Notice how the TaKEda, the Hojo and others are gone. Notice how some of the names, you swear you never heard of before like the "Honda" clan.

    Lol the car manufacturer?
    .....ANYWAY.....Since this is an ALTERNATE SCENARIO MOD, the clan list reflects that. This is a clan list of everyone relevant during the Sekigahara Campaign. And this is where the Seki DIVERGES from the rest.

    Ohhhhkeeey.......I'm listening...
    ....In other words, this is the clan list of 1590s. Now the vanilla starts at year 1545 and reflects that. The other mods seem content with just staying with the year 1545 clans.

    So? Whats the difference, they are all just japanese clans anyway whats the diff? Cant even memorize 1/3 of vanilla now this new ones? Pfft.
    Dont worry. This new info will make you remember them coz this are the NEW PLAYABLE CLANS. Not recolored. But NEW.

    (The Tokugawa gets new positions while the Date remained the same coz they are that awesome.)

    WHOA! Nice recolor! I like the new helmets lol, like that Kato guy, like a traffic cone or something, and wow that Date guy is holding a gun. So you unlocked the minors?
    NO! They are not minors, this clans aside from the Tokugawa and Date, DID not exist in a 1545 vanilla campaign, they are NEW, made only for this mod. Existing only for this mod.

    It helped immensely that the multiplayer avatar armors just fit in perfectly with this mod. This new playables represent the defining thing about the Seki mod setting it apart from the rest. ALTERNATE scenario means ALTERNATE playable clans. Play as one of the leading and influential clans during the last moments of the Sengoku Jidai.

    WOW! So its like that ROTS dlc, same map, different clans, different era, right?
    YES! Exactly, this is like ROTS in its scope to ALTER things. Down to NEW UNITS, NEW AGENT, NEW BUILDING CHAINS and so on. And its not a DLC hence its FREE. (Rep them though, like Anton III et al and Erwin feeds on messages from people about the Date Clan awesomeness.)

    And even if you dont express interest in the era or seem content with the plain "1545" clans. You have to be interested in a campaign that occurs in the late game where guns and new weaponry are available, instead of waiting 3 decades worth of turn times before you field a decent matchlock army.

    Yeah! I kinda prefer the "Late Era" campaign in Medieval Total War, to field advance units from the get go, instead of pressing hundreds of end turns just to train gunners.

    Hell yeah! But uhm.....why did you color the Shimizu blue? I mean I was starting to prefer them neon green.
    Sigh.....just......just download the damn mod.

    Embarassing... or a well conceived strategic "blunder" to get some good air time on the main Shogun 2 forum!

    Anyhow, I may not have seen this thread otherwise. I'll put this on my list of campaigns to check out... once I stop playing FotS!

    Great post!

    I used to play Kessen and I loved it. So I was very happy to see this mod, keep up the good work.

    Is this for real? As a big fan of this mod I expect better PR and more detailed feature info. With all this quoting it kinda looks like talking down because you folks are frustrated cause other mods are more known and players don't know much about Japan history.

    I tried actually to be serious but I ended up incorporating too many wiki links, image "copy link" pasted from wiki articles and the end result looked more like a samurai-archives.com article and the mod barely got mentioned coz I was sooo gushing over the battle/campaign than the game elements. Then it occurred to me, dang I missed alot of lessons from my marketing classes.

    well i am starting to get bored, having played Vanilla to death then RotS and FotS as well, im currently playing RotS having conquered roughly 40% of the map, but even my vassels are turning against me. and with no one to trade with its getting to be a bit tedious.

    This post is a bit silly and wastes the readers time, to be honest.. It assumes the reader is a fool.
    Don't get me wrong, i like comedy, but i came here just to literally get a quick overview of what the mod does.
    A simple Features list would have been far better.
    Or even just the sentence at the bottom, "It's like Fall of The Samurai, a whole new campaign, whole new clans, units and gameplay".
