    Default Whatever Happened to S.I.T?

A while ago there was a group started to rival S.I.N, the Society of Intellectual Theists (S.I.T). Where exactly has this gone? Considering the degree of organisation that the atheists have, it would perhaps be wise for the theists to at least emulate them in that respect.

I have a question about another group - the Carbonari - which died as well. This after received about 20 members and a seemingly strong base of support. But I guess 3 times isnt always the charm . . .

No, it wouldn't. Stop encouraging them.

We're not organized, we are alittle atheists abit more unified you theists, so we tend to group together more. Mostly because we can all agree on most things, where as the "theist" group is more diverse in its beliefs.

Say "I am now a member of S.I.T." and put it in your sig.

I used to have the line "Sexy Intellectual Theist" but dropped it after I put my massive poem in my sig instead.

What do you mean? Einstein was an agostic/atheist, but considered himself ethnically and culturally Jewish, though he didn't follow the jewish religion.

    Ah, close enough.
I consider deism to be more of a philosophical point of view than a religious one.

And Deists are accepted into S.I.N. so the oxymoron could still stand. Of course, most "intellectual theists" throughout history are experts in areas not related to theology or science, and so aren't intellectual as a result of being theists...

No you couldn't, you can only ever join S.I.T, you are God, so therefore must be a Theist. Sort of.

Hw many non-theists were intellectuals as a direct result of being non-theists? CS Lewis, but then he reversed and became an intellectual due to theism.

God, they believe in a general non-revealed force. They are not theists in any way, and the Society is only called the Society of Intellectual Nontheists.

Society of Intellectual non-believers isn't it?

Deists = Belief in God, just not a Christian God.

So they shouldn't be allowed in...
