Default How to detect 2nd audio card on Windows 7?

    Hi guys,

So here is my problem. I have a second internal audio card in my computer that I haven't used for eons. Now I need to download new drivers but I forgot the name of the card, the manufacturer, the version , etc.

I run on Windows 7. How can I detect it and reinstall the drivers please? The audio card does not seem to apperar in the control panel...

    Thank you.

Pull the card. The info is printed on it.

But isn't it possible to detect it using a software or Windows 7 without having to physically pull it out?

    Have you checked Device Manager?

It's possible Windows has already loaded some driver from its stash for it.

If not, pull the card, do the research, and there just may not be any Win 7 drivers for it depending on age.

Could be why Win 7 is not identifying it.

I used PC Wizard 2012 but it does not detect my 2nd PCI audio card. However the audio card is correctly inserted as a PCI card. What can I do?

Then the only option is to open the case and see the PCB as in the sound card chip. Name of the sound card and its model number will be written on it.
