I've got the same problem:
When i turn on the launcher, it's OK. When i turn on the menu, it's OK. When i choose the faction, and click on "start", the game started to load, and after 2 minutes (before loading) game get crashed. What's up? I reinstall the RS2 by two times, and it's still the same. I have got RTW with alx and bi
Maybe, the problem is in my computer,
it is 8 years old and has got:
- Windows XP
- 1,4 GHz processor (one core)
- 64 MB graphics
- 256 RAM
I'm sorry about my language, but i'm learning by short period of time.
No worries...
However, if it really is running at 1.4GHz, then I'd be surprised if the game will run at any reasonable speed at all. Your memory is a problem though. To run XP SP3 you really need 2Gb of RAM and probably a 256/512Mb graphics card. Solving the latter pair will not be difficult, but the processor speed might be.
Does the PC run the original game fine (made about the same time, but even then the PC specs are low)?
If i understood well... Normal RTW runs smoothly with mini-lags, BI and Alexander too. The game is from CD.
Understood - I wanted to ask really if it ran at all....
The main reason I ask, is that I haven't seen a PC with so little RAM since the late 1980's.
I'm going to go out on a limb (and hope someone will correct me), but I don't think that PC is up to it.
I have an older PC dedicated to RSII testing (on which I have no crashes). Please see here for specs, which are very reasonable...
