Default Question about shogunate and the emperor

    Hello,

I would like to know if the emperor and the tokugawa shogunate hold provinces on the map campaign.
Because edo has togukawa mon, but they declare war on me although my allegiance is for the shogunate

I ask this because if edo clan disappear then there is no shogun anymore...
So maybe the emperor and the shogunate are only "virtual" as religions are in S2 ? Still, objectives say that your allegiance must control musashi and kyoto ( renamed for FOTS though ), which make me think that these provinces are both held by emperor and the shogunate.

The Edo clan merely hold the province. The Shogun is Tokugawa, Edo are branch of Taira.

Yea, the emperor or shogun won't field an army or control a province in the game

It was sacralige for the emperor to fight, and to fight the emperor so an emperor faction wouldn't make sense in the period.
    My mods
-Mod Leader for the Wheel Of Time This is not the beginning, but it is a beginning
-Mod Leader for Shogun 2: Foreign Invasion if you want a mod with alot of units this is for you, not only is there the 40 units CA made theres planned to be atleast 177 NEW units when its done.
-Modder in the World War I and Shogun II project. The only full scale mod for FOTS and it plays nothing like FOTS. FOTS may have Gatling guns, WW1&S2 has tekidanto samurai, SNLF, MGs, kisho snipers, assault infantry(shotguns) just to name a few.

The Emperor IS in the game as an army.

The concept of "Imperialist Vanguard" is rooted in the event in the Boshin War right before the battle before the gates of Kyoto where a distant cousin of the Imperial house was named the nominal supreme commander of all Imperialist forces (mainly Satsuma and Choshu forces).

This made the Imperialist forces into "kangun". An archaic Chinese term that implies it as the only rightful armed force in the land, and all others are rebels against Imperial authority.

The Imperial Japanese Army established after the war was also known domestically as kangun.

So... when you take up the mantle of Imperialist Vanguard. You are now the army of the Emperor. Thus you receive the Imperial crysthanamum crest over your clan mon.
This is my signature. Isn't it awesome?
