    Default Roman General Names

Hiya everyone. I'm a war story and campiagn writer over at the SPQR forum. I intend to start an epic storyline in the near future of my own version of the Rise of Roman Empire. I got loads of names but i need more. I was wondering if the good people here could help me?
I don't want real Roman names i.e Caeser, Pompey, Scipio. I want made up names and cool ones at that. If anyone is feeling really adventurous then could you think up some Gallic, German and Greek names.
    Cheers

A teacher of mine was around during the Korean War. In latin class, on the day the war ended, he got up and shouted "Bellus endus!"

Shylam Popat did you happen to used the CLC latin course text books when studying latin in high school. I'm in my second year but in the first book the main character was Caecilius, quintus and Metella.

    Gallic:
    Obligatorix
    Hatrix
    Appendix
    Trixy the Waitress

    Roman:
    Falco Veritas
    Maximus Galvanius
    Hassardus Dicero
    Horatius/Horatio of the Torrentii
    Madus Maximus

I'm not into latin, so I don't know if they're common names. At least Falco sounds real cool. Falco Amadeus? Maybe for a christian German?

Remember that 'Augustus' or 'Julius Caesar' aren't full names. Cato's full name was 'Marcus Porcius Cato' (praenomen, nomen, cognomen) and that of Augustus 'Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus Augustus'. He was born as Gaius Octavius: his name changed when he was adopted by Caesar, he became 'Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus'. Later the Senate gave him the cognomen Augustus.

Publius, the site behindthename.com just gives a list of Roman names without the distinction between praenomen, nomen and cognomen. This site is much better: Wiki - Choosing a Roman Name

uhu... Search google for a program called EBON. It's a random name generator, and you can chose to generate Latin names (and them seem pretty good)
