What GPU do I need..

Good day all, I have recently bought me a second HD 6870 and Cross fired it, and I am just not 100% satisfied with how it handled Shogun 2.. I mean it ran it at fairly high settings and what not, but I felt it should have been better. What would you guys suggest from personal experience I need to run the Total War series at Ultra... Or at least darn close. Thanks!

Should have just gotten a Nvidia card instead of another crappy lack of decent drivers AMD card.

I currently have a XFX HD 5850 and even though this game is sponsored by AMD, the performance is pretty iffy.

Crappy AMD drivers? Despite CA producing Shogun2, not AMD?

I think AMD have more experience (and success) writing gfx drivers for their own hardware than CA do at writing code to exploit them.

What do you need to improve S2 performance? A processor that doesn't exist. OC'd Intel 3770K @ 4.8ghz still has FPS minimums of 33.

@ Noif. By chance are you running DM with your 6950/5970? Or just the stock game. And how well does it run on Ultra? Like are you able to have large size armies, like 6000+ or are you limited to the ultra graphics at cost of smaller battles??

Theres no such thing, no matter how good your card is Ca's lack of multicore Cpu support will cause a bottleneck.

Don't waste your money on a 6000 series when you can get a 7850 for 250.00 USD.
