Would anyone be interested in this?

Would people be interested in a tournament of sorts? It would be like those faction war forum games, but using the game itself. AI vs. AI, of course. No multiplayer. I'll run the games, and post the replays for those that want to see it (not really required, but could be fun). It will start with a round robin, then use the results of that for a seed of a double elimination tournament bracket. I'll be running with Retrofit, GUAM, and ReallyBadAI (which will be needed for viewing the replays), so that I can have the bug fixes, varied units, and enhanced AI. There will also be strict rules in place, to try and make each faction as balanced as possible (Aztecs will have to be excluded, unfortunately.)

I'll be hosting the tournament on http//www:challonge.com/, which will also be where I update the scores and results of each match. I'll run about two (maybe three?) matches per day.

I don't know if anyone would be interested in this. But if you are, let me know and I'll do it. I think it'd be fun.

I think that would be a great idea! It reminds me of a cock-fight of something, everyone crowded round to watch the AI battle it out. I voted yes

Perhaps we could integrate some system where we bet on who wins? Those who guessed correctly get rep? Perhaps you tell us which factions are fighting, then give us an hour before you post who won so we can vote?

Yes that would be awesome! And good idea on the betting, Redcoat! But how would you get only 2 AIs in a custom battle? Don't you have to be in it?

I make three teams. One for myself, and then two AI teams for the two competitors. I simply give myself a unit of peasants, and as soon as the battle starts, I withdraw them. The two AI will then battle it out without any human interference.

Ahh. Sounds pretty good. The AI might come for you, but probably not. Who's in the first round? And where's the thread?
