    Default upgrading RAM memory

hello..I need some help..I have asus motherboard P5BSE and a graphics card Radeon HD 5670 (1gb of memory) but only 2 gb DDR2 of RAM memory (dual channels, size 2048mb, dram frequency 333mhz)..so I would like to upgrade my RAM memory and buy 2 more gb's (I have 2 empty memory slots so I thought to buy 2x1gb memory and install it myself)..do I have to buy the same memory as I have (I know it has to be DDR2 but I'm thinking about the same produced model with same or similiar specs as I already have (dual channels, 333mhz etc) or I can walk in the store and buy any of them as long as it is DDR2? I have dual core processor and I'm using windows 7 32 bit..I know it uses maximum 3-3.5 gb of RAM but I want to buy 2 more nonetheless..thanks in advance!

    You can use Dual-channel DDR2 800/667/533 MHz.
Either as 2x2GB or as 4x1GB memory sticks. 2x2 is recommended normally.

If your sticks do not use identical memory frequencies then the sticks should run on the lowest common frequency together (theoretically). It might be better to use memory sticks of an identical frequency however in case the additional sticks are for some reason incompatible with the existing ones. Ergo, try to get the same sticks you already use.

If you get 2x4GB 800MHz RAM sticks for a good price, you may consider replacing the existing set, too.

You will find a memory/device list (PDF) on the Asus site linked above.

    Thx, for rep.
