Default Medieval 2: Total War Kingdoms has encountered an unspecified error and will now close.

So after TWELVE GOD DAMN HOURS OF TRYING TO INSTALL THIS MOD I finally got it to work.

    And you know what happened?

I can't even get to the main menu because the game just crashes and it says "unspecified error"

So I reinstalled the game and spent ANOTHER TWELVE HOURS INSTALLING THE MOD and NOTHING WORKED.

    Help?

    @roman117

We need some more information in order to help you. Are you using Steam or retail disc copy? Are you running Windows 7 or Vista? It shouldn't take twelve hours to install the mod.

@LYNCHY: For battle crashes the first thing to check is day light savings time. Try disabling it.

For Windows 7: Click on the clock on the taskbar, click "Change Date and Time Settings," click "Change Time Zone," then finally uncheck the box that says "Automatically adjust for Daylight Savings Time."

Hi there and welcome to the TWC Forums!

First of all, when does your problem occur, during battles, after starting the game, during battle with more than two armies(reinforcements)?

Is your M2TW a steam version or some other(GAMESTOP, DVD)?

    What Windows do u have?
American, French, Israeli and British government's ILLEGAL aggression against the Syrian people, without any proof for chemical attacks in Douma, and without waiting for OPCW to conduct their investigation..
Sons of *******, leave that poor, war torn country in peace.
If you are a citizen of one of these countries, then DO NOT ask any help from me on these forums, since, in protest against this aggression by your governments, I do not provide assistance/help anymore.
Let Syria be finally in peace.

Have you disabled UAC? Have you followed the Steam specific installation instructions?

i know this is pretty annoying but it still isnt working, this is what it says after it crashes "It was not possible to connect to the update server. Please check that you have an active internet connection and that your proxy settings are configured correctly. Click on the Settings buuton to configure them." But i have an internet connection, i dont know what proxy settings are so maybe that is it but again i dont know what they are.

That might be a Steam problem. Can you play other games on Steam? Can you confirm that you can play standard M2TW Kingdoms without any problem?

Hello, I'm having trouble with just one battle. I can't fight in Minas Morgul. I can fight it automatically but when I try to actually fight it the game loads and then a message pops up saying that windows has detected a problem and will close the game. I've tried deleting map.rwm but it doesn't work. Also, when I do this I cannot restart the game as steam claims that it is running already while it is clearly not. Help please!
