Playing as Scotland or England

Have any of you ever had any other country other than Norway invade you while playing as Scotland or England? I hate the idea of a land bridge, but playing as these factions is too easy once you take the British Isles. There is no need for indemnity left.

Spain, in rare cases, invades england... but not in force.

Defendability is the reason England has never been conquered or realisticly invaded in almost 1000 years.

I've had Portugal invade and take that welsh settlement before and sometimes even Ireland. Sadly for them though, in retaliation I blockade all their ports, sack their capital and destroy every building inside of it... if I'm in a good mood

but in my current campaign (as England) I'm around turn 80 and only Norway invaded (well, not really, they just had an almost full stack wondering in a ship near the shores of the western part of the british isles but they never disembarked - I sank the ship). No sign of Castille so far ...

Playing as England Early Era on BYG 4 and Gracul AI, I had Norway, Denmark, and Leon and Catille invade (all successfully, for a time) around turns 150-200. Norway and Denmark kept sending full stacks aboard fleets to hang around my coastline when we were neutral. Eventually I couldn't leave them there threatening my central core, so I attacked both with fleets. They were not completely destroyed and fled. They eventually returned and both invaded, successfully. Then Norway and Denmark both invaded several more times later on.

Also, the Moors own all of North Africa, Spain, France, and part of Germany, but have not invaded or tried to invade.

In my case I've only seen England and Scotland going the other way around and invading France, rebels near HRE and Norway. I also play M/M and Lusted or Savage AI, one day I'll try Gracul or H/H again and see if it is different.

I never play as scotland and england in vanilla and any mods that feature similar geographical map as SS due to this very reason...

Lets see what I've had invading me after taking all of Britain with Scotland... Aragon, Castille, Portugal, Denmark, Norway, France and for some reason, the Teutonic Order after they had been forced to emigrate to Groningen after being destroyed by Lithuania in their normal provinces.

In my first SS 6.4 campaign ever I played with Scotland on M/M and that didn't stop the AI from starting invasions in Britain, both Norway (to Aberdeen) and Castille- Leon (to South West England) inside the first 20 turns. By saying this I think it's just (bad) luck that it didn't happen in your campaign

But as people said having an island which you can defend very well is just historically correct, there haven't been too many invasions in Britain since the end of the Viking raids.

My short campaign with Scotland showed me that French take a while to invade the British Isles and only after declaring war to them. Norway is sooner that later though.

It was my experiment with Gracul AI, that probably counts.

Norway invades around York every single time. Compulsively.
