Default Mass Demonstrations in Tahrir Square To Protest the Egyptian Military's Grip on Egyptian Politics

Demonstrators from both moderates and islamists alike to protest for genuine democracy, especially since 10 candidates for elections have bee barred by the same military junta; where i wonder, is the 'no fly zone' to bring democracy to Egypt once more?

what i find strange is how supportive some ppl here have been towards the military junta, since genuine democracy in contemporary Egypt would give the Islamists an overwhelming majority in Parliament, and threfore endanger Israel and potentially US influence in the region.

I support the courts that are trying to uphold certain intrinsic rights, not the military junta.

You mean selling vital bottled water to protesters while encouraging people to protest more? Sounds like good business

Weren't people on TWC just a week or two ago going on about how the Muslim Brotherhood and the military are best of friends and plotting to team up to rule the country together?

Wha-wha-wha-what happened? Liberals and Islamists holding hands and demanding the same things, I think I hear heads exploding.

Fair enough indeed.. The problem is, what exactly are the courts doing here? Can one really argue that barring a presidential candidate because their mother holds a passport, or barring other candidates because they were political prisoners under a dictatorial regime in the past, is upholding intrinsic rights? I mean, you could argue that at least these measures are being applied equally, seeing as how everyone from the Muslim Brotherhood's candidate to Omar Suleiman have been barred, but to me that means that everyone's just being treated equally unfair.

I haven't read anything about the MB and the junta being in bed together, but if the junta barred 10 parties from the election and maintained the MB as one of the two viable parties, doesn't that mean the junta is helping the MB?

Also, how does everyday Egyptian liberals and Islamists in the streets protesting preclude the junta and the MB working together?

Real News did a good piece about some Dr. Aboul Fotouh fella who seems to be flying under the radar but is gaining support because he's working to bring all sides together--Islamists, liberals (maybe progressive Islamists make up their own group?), Muslims, Christians, yadda, yadda. I think the piece also mentions something about everyday Egyptians complaining about the MB and junta working together.

Once a political decision has been reached to proceed with internal disturbances in Syria, CIA is prepared, and SIS (MI6) will attempt to mount minor sabotage and coup de main [sic] incidents within Syria, working through contacts with individuals. Incidents should not be concentrated in Damascus. [A] necessary degree of fear, [...] frontier incidents and [staged] border clashes [will] provide a pretext for intervention. The CIA and SIS should use [...] capabilities in both psychological and action fields to augment tension. [Funding should be provided for a] Free Syria Committee [and arms should be supplied to] political factions with paramilitary or other actionist capabilities.

Yes, they're protesting the junta; however, my questions still stand. For example, the MB's top candidate was barred, but one of the two candidates still remaining is a MB candidate. Furthermore, many Egyptians are still accusing the MB of working with the junta (perhaps the remaining MB candidate, Mohamed Mursi, is seen as pliable by the junta). That's why I asked those questions. It doesn't seem everything is as black and white as your post implies. Maybe it is, I don't know. I was just asking. Any answers?

Didn't the Salafists support the rule that bars people with a foreign parent from running for President? So how is it shifty if the court actually enforces this rule. I mean, its a weird rule but it had support from parties who are now victim to it.

Perhaps the junta should hire a British ex police chief to run things.

Bahrain keeps most of the pro democracy demonstrators under control and managed to run a grand prix.

Okay they killed one person and are busy arresting scores of men and women now the press has moved on.
