The Construction of the Temple of Neptune



The great temple to Neptune, God of Sea was undergoing a massive reconstruction in light of the recent storms that tore across the seas of the Mediterranean. Decimus stood there, gazing upon the slaves, many of which were prizes of the Allobroges conquest. He stood in the blazing sun as many citizens walked by, happy to see that Neptune would get his temple renewed. It would become one of the many marvels of Rome. Decimus walked over to some of land surveyors and construction leaders.

Looks everything is in order. When will the great statue of Neptune be finished?

The architects have already begun the foundation, but are waiting for the roof to be finished before beginning the sculpting.

Well get it done then, not too fast. I want Neptune to be pleased with this new temple in his name. Glory his name in Rome with this temple.

The Romans nod to Decimus and head off to check on the details of the construction. Decimus then sits down and strokes his grey and white beard. Age was hitting him hard now as Decimus was closing upon mid--fifties. He hoped that this temple would be fully constructed before his death.

Due to the influx of citizens in Rome, the construction seemed to slow down. Many people came to offer their services to work...much of their personal wealth vanished due to the volcano. Decimus allowed only handfuls in. He looked at the temple.

By the end of the term, this temple should be ready. Get it done fast.
