Hello,

1 Year ago i bought medieval2 gold edition (medieval2+kingdoms) in stores (so not on steam).
I found out there were never compatible games in the multiplayer lobby, so i just played offline.

Now i heave installed third age a few days ago and i would like to try multiplayer, but on the third age lobby it also says on all the games (most often there are only 5 or 6 in lobby) incompatible (even if i left my own created game and wanne rejoin, i cant).

Are there just to few ppl playing third age or is it somethign else?

Third age is the only mod thing i have installed (so no special medieval 2 updates mods or watherver i heard of).

Can someone help?

Hi Arianes, i think there are defenitly people playing Third age online. But meaby not enough and they probatly play over lan hamachi (at least i do). Meaby you should invite people from the forums on specefic times to join your game. Also joining the TWC group on steam can be usefull.

add someone in your hamachi network or go in their network, than you should view their created lobbies by the game list. quite easy actually. Nothing to do.

I just doenloaded tatw nd installed it. Im not able 2 start seige battles in custom or campain except in forts. Will crash while loading or after i press start deployment. Have medieval nd kingdoms with 1.05 nd medieval 2.All else is great...+rep to king kong nd team

Hello people, I want to try if I can play online battles, but when I try to log into the online battle place(?), but the game just says that I've got an invalid CD key. This is kinda interesting I think, and I dont think its becuase of my crappy internet. Does anyone have a clue what it might be about?

People who own Gold Edition sadly cannot play Multiplayer for TATW.

There you go. Gold Edition cannot play online for TATW, though it can play online for M2TW.


@Killersmurf Unless you bought M2TW Kingdoms and M2TW then you can play online, if you have Gold Edition then you cannot play. It has already been confirmed.

I also have the Gold Edition and can play M2TW and TATW online. If you really do have an invalid CD key, you'll probably have to re-buy the game.

Uhhhhhhhh you will not want to play with only 150-300 kb/s... if that is your download speed then don't even bother because your upload speed is likely lower then that! Also the other person you are playing against will lag like crazy and probably quit anyway.

I think 150-300 Kb/s download speed should do fine. That's about what I have and I usually don't have any problems playing games online. I haven't played much Total War online, but I always assumed it would be less speed intensive since its usually only between two players.

MTW2 lags with large battles offline between 2 players(talking 6000+ troops)

And it definately isnt less speed intensive, there are alot calculations running in a battle which requires alot of data transfer/s . So u can try but unless u play on normal or lower unit sizes its going to lag.
