    Default Makedonia & Horse-Archers

Is it possible to recruit them? I have Kallatis which is supposed to give access to Scythian Riders and Scythian Horse-Archers, however I can recruit neither. Is this a glitch or not; Both the in-game description and recruitment viewer show that they are recruitable, but they aren't in my pool and neither are the regular Scythian Archers.

It could be that you don't have a high enough barracks or possibly you have the wrong government type in the area?
Were there but a tree in this godforsaken place i would have hanged myself.

You probably built the wrong set of barracks. You'll need "regional MIC", which is the barracks building with the orange roof (not the red one).

Not possible since these units only require tier 1 regional MIC (available under all government types). Scythian Riders require tier 2, which meets the same conditions.

I did build the orange barracks and can get the Thracian units, but not the Scythians. And Kallatis is only eligible for type III or IV goverment for Makedonia, both of which should be able to yield sufficient barracks for most regional troops. I have type IV for RP-purposes. I bought the settlement, could this be a reason?

That's weird. Are you using EB 1.2? Have you activated the script?

    No.

    No.
Yes and yes. I noticed I had Getic barracks left over, deleted them, but still have no Scythian (horse)archers. At least I can hire them as mercenaries in the area. BTW in Sindigum(sp?) there is a Time of Freemen "building" should I wait for this to pass, or does this also have no effect on recruitment.

That's a Reform Marker for the Celtic (or Sweboz?) Reforms. Just ignore it.
I beat back their first attack with ease. Properly employed, E's can be very deadly, deadlier even than P's and Z's, though they're not as lethal as Paula Abdul or Right Said Fred.

That's weird. You should post a savegame, maybe somebody else can sort this out.

Singidunum (= Belgrad) has a Celtic reform marker. Makedonia gets reformed heavy pikemen but no markers to worry about. Reform markers are only relevant for the Celtic factions, as well as Suebi, Romans, Carthaginians, Seleukids, and Saka.

I've seen similar problems in my current game as Carthage. Despite having the highest level barracks in Carthage, I cannot build Elite African Pikeman, Liby-Phenocian Heavy Infantry or Iberian Assault Infantry, despite all appearing on the list of units I can recruit.

Those units appear only after the reforms and these reforms are not tied to the March of Time. Check the EB FAQ for the reforms conditions.

You don't have to build the Barracks to see what units you will get. Just right-click the building in the queue and check the description.

Here is the save file. I've also noticed i cannot recruit any Illyian units either over in the west, but can get all the northern barbarian units elsewhere. I think it may be tied to the custom battle roster since at second glance all the units I have in my campaign I also have in custom battle.

I can't load it. I have vanilla EB 1.2. You probably messed with something (script, roster dunno what else).

I think Foot needs to put a warning saying "You may wish to play other mods before playing this mod, as EB will destroy your ability to find other mods exciting and fulfilling".

I don't know how to mod so if something is wrong I didn't do it intentionally. Can I get a copy of your EDU, since you have a clean one I assume, and missing half the units I should be able to recruit is upsetting.

I re-installed the patch and the units are back.
