    Icon5 Mongol nowhere

    Hello

I finishing my first M2TW campaign; since many turns I been informed that the Mongol are acoming and every turn they appeared in the turn overview screen (the resume at the beginning of each turn) being as the best in Military and finance.
Now I'm the fist everywhere but finance where Mongol are skyrocketing But Mongol are nowhere in the map
No town, no diplomatic relation with any faction (neither at pace or war) no unit anywhere

    How can it be?

And when Timur is supposed to appear? I’m already at gun era.

The Mongol horde arrives either north of the Caucasus, heading to Kiev, or near Bagdad, heading towards the Holy Land. It takes a few turns to get there and they sometimes do stupid things when fresh reinforcements arrive they turn back to regroup with them making it take longer.
If you want to see wether they have arrived you should use toggle_fow in the console command, activated normally by this ~ key.

The Timurids arrive around turn 145 I think, a few turns after the great Plague.

It´s quite normal for the Hordes to not go straight for their main target, especially if the human player doesn´t have any of them.
In such scenarios, they usually just wander around either the Zagros mountains or the Russian steppes, pillaging around and generally not doing much but cause annoyance - until they finally get their act together and start drawing toward their main target.

And the Timurid invasion happens after the Black Death, about 10-20 turns after it has disappeared - it makes the Timurids much more of a threat to arrive at a time when all the factions on the map are struggling with rebuilding their numbers.

The Mongol hordes make for some of the weirdest decisions made by the AI I've ever seen, including turning back 5 times, once when besieging Tunis ( /shrug). One time they even stood there, on the edge of the map, until they had pretty much died out of old age.

They get a big buggy when they start out with no settlements.
