Relation: Brother of Leofrick Marital Status: Married Sir Tobran Sir Tobran Mystweald Age: 26 Appearance: Personality: One of the two 'black sheep' of the family, he is kind, but hardly a true Mystweald. This can be seen by his duties and fighting style - whereas most of Mistwood's rulers fight in the style of the lords of other houses, Tobran leads a small band of men that keep order in Mistwood's vast forest. He isn't the most chivalrous, and doesn't hesitate to resort to thievery, but he is a noble hoodlum in the style of Robin Hood. Relation: Son of Leofrick, brother of Merek Marital Status: Unmarried Fendrel Fendrel Mystweald Age: 65 Appearance: Personality: Flat-out evil, he enjoys torturing and raping people (young and old, men and women, he's a flat-out sexual predator and pedophile). He hates the rest of the family, and styles himself Lord of Mistwood. Relation: Uncle of Leofrick Marital Status: Widower (rumour has it he murdered his wife) Maerwynne Mystweald Maerwynne Mystweald Age: 21 Appearance: Personality: The realist of the group, she's somewhat depressing to talk to but when engaged she has a dizzying intellect. Relation: Older daughter of Leofrick Marital Status: Married to Sigmund Swann Elaine Mystweald Elaine Mystweald Age: 19 Appearance: Personality: Shy Relation: Middle daughter of Leofrick Marital Status: Married to Jojen Reed Alys Mystweald Alys Mystweald Age: 14 Appearance: Personality: A beautiful, kind, happy, always laughing girl - the baby of the group, analogous to Lalaith from The Silmarillion (or The Children of Hurin). Everyone loves here, though Fendrel has tried in the past to kidap her and rape her, she does not know that and shows even HIM love. Relation: Youngest child of Leofrick Marital Status: Unmarried and closely guarded

As arranged, Chief Bannerman Sigmund Swann arrives at Mistwood to start off the annual military inspection for the Stormlands. He had also arrived to speak more about the betrothal of Leofrick's eldest daughter to him. Sigmund arrived with a personal guard of Swann soldiers. They wore shields that had the symbol of the Swann House upon them as they marched in Mistwood. Along with them came other inspectors, those who would take notes during each inspection.

Sigmund was mounted upon his mighty steed, Loreth. He wore a replica of his father's armor, since the original was much larger. He came into Mistwood, looking around the place and was greeted by the people as his guard and Sigmund continued to the main castle area to begin the inspection.

Leofrick can be seen, as usual, on his throne in the square, Merek beside him.
"Sigmund! I am pleased to see you! But these soldiers are a mere token garrison - follow myself and my bodyguard to the full bulk of my force, if you will."
The bodyguards, Leofrick, Merek, and Sigmund rode for what seemed like hours through the dense forest, coming at last to a massive clearing - seemingly the only large open plain in all Mistwood, and sharing the rest of the region's crappy weather.

The Military Parade - WARNING: HUGE IMAGES!

The parade was grand. Despite the weather, all armour was polished and shone brightly, even without the sun's rays. Trumpets were blown, banners were unfurled, and uniforms were worn even by the Archer Corps. The elite Greenwardens, both on foot and horse, heralded the end of the lines of soldiers. While it was a small army, it was obviously well-trained, despite the customarily lax uniform regulations.

Sigmund follows Leofrick and examines the troops. The inspectors followed behind, taking note of the condition of the armor and weapons as well as the discipline of the troops. Sigmund glances back as the lead inspector gives him a nod. Sigmund looks at Leofrick.

The inspectors approve of the display. Seems your troops pass the armor, weapons, discipline and ceremonial parts of the inspection. Glad to see Mistwood has a garrison of fine soldiers to defend her.

'Glad to see you approve. We got tired of the same-old-same-old castle inspection, so we decided to make use of this little piece of grassland and impress you this year. If you want you can inspect the castle too, though being almost entirely underground with very few entrances there's not much to inspect.'

The army begins to break up and relax, telling jokes and all kinds of things. Discipline, clearly, was only a momentous thing in Mistwood.

OOC: Thanks. And that last pic of the OP is the entrance to the castle, btw. I know it's anything but canon, but I essentially modelled this region after Mirkwood from The Hobbit.

Sigmund dismounts once they arrived at the entrance of the castle and looks at Leofrick.

The inspection was only for the military forces. Your lineage has spent good money in the defenses and castle.

He looks at the entrance to the castle.

It is sure an unorthodox castle, but nonetheless very effective.

'Aye. My whole land is trees and rain, leaving little chance for the sunlight I'd need to dry wood. But my great-great-grandfather had a large hill, and thought to himself, 'Why not build my abode there?' Since then we've all lived in the fortress, with its nickname of Underhill Castle.'

[Lucius Malfoy]

Sigmund strokes his chin.

Very very interesting.

He then looks at Leofrick.

I was also gonna take this time to speak about the betrothal to your daughter while the inspectors finish their work here and file the report to my office and then to Gawen.

'Then come with me inside. Have you met Maery?'

[Lucius Malfoy]

Once when I was 15, my father brought me with him on one of his military inspections. She would have been 6 at the time. I only saw her since it was my first time doing a inspection of the Mistwood's forces.

[Agamemnon]

'Ah, alright. Well, she's considerably prettier now than she was at six. Care to meet your betrothed now?'

[Lucius Malfoy]

I would gladly, Leofrick. Lead on.

[Agamemnon]

Leofrick leads him to a huge stone hall, with a blazing fire difficult to look away from.



Maery steps out of the shadows into the light.
'Hello, Master Sigmund.'

Sigmund looks to where Maery appeared. He was used to people appearing from the shadows...his younger brother Nyord had been attempting that for some time. He bowed to her.

Please, just call me Sigmund. It has been fifteen years to the day since I last saw you, Maery. You have indeed grown into a fine and beautiful young lady.

Sigmund was tempted to say she looked like her mother...but he did not want to upset his old friend, Leofrick.

[Agamemnon]

'Thank you, Sigmund. For what do I have the pleasure of meeting you?'

[Lucius Malfoy]

Sigmund glanced at Leofrick, wondering if he should be the one to bring this topic up. He gestures to her father.

I believe your father should have the honor of answering that question.

He smiles at his old friend.

[Agamemnon]

'Maery, you're to be married to this man. He's a noble warrior, and he has been a great friend of mine for years. You may return at any time to visit, and we're always welcoming.'

'Father! I don't know him! For all I know he could be a sadistic pedophile like Uncle Fendrel!'

'Hush, child. If anything of the kind happens, return here and I'll ensure you don't suffer again. Now, brighten up! You're to be married to one of the most powerful nobles in the land, and you'll probably get to travel all over the Stormlands and learn all sorts of things you can't here!'

Yes, father.

Sigmund steps forward to speak with Maery.

I understand your concerns, Maery. I assured your father that you would happily accepted into my family and home...treated with respect, love and kindness.

He stands there, looking directly into her eyes.

I would never dare lay a hand upon you in such a...inhumane manner. I will treat you as if you were a queen. My family will love you as a sister and welcome you with open arms. Lord Gawen can confirm this as I selfishly defended him against dangerous and wild animals...because though he and I were not of blood, I still see him as a brother and as family.

Sigmund offers his hand to Maery.

If you trust my words...take hold of my hand. If you do not, I understand your reasons and will let you get to know before committing. If you do not feel this is right, I will not hold a grudge against you nor your family. I respect your father and his capabilities. And respect the entire House Mystweald, except your Uncle Frendel...

'Yes, Sigmund. I shall marry you. It's better than this depressing old place... I've read every book here to the point of memorisation...

Mistwood is naturally that. I have promised your father that you will visit from time to time...he is indeed sad to let you go since...your mother's death. He said you were the pillar that kept the family together.
