Unit editing help
I am having trouble editing the stats of units in the export_descr_unit, for example, if i wanted to change the amount of ammo a unit has or its hit points. It displays the edited information as i put it but it does not seem to have any effect on the game.

Re: Unit editing help
How are you measuring its effects? It will not necessarily be very noticeable, especially if you are changing the value from say 50 to 70. As long as the game functions and your unit does not get a CTD when you try to load it, then your changes should be there.

Re: Unit editing help
Well at first i made minor changes like adding 1 to attack and things of that nature. When i didnt see any difference during a battle or the unit's description, i started to add 30-40 to attack and defense to see if i was doing the right thing, but nothing happened. But i have never had a CTD after doing any of this.

Re: Unit editing help
Are you sure you are editing the correct export_descr_unit.txt? Doesn't RTr install to its own seperate folder so try finding that and looking in there.

Re: Unit editing help
well, the game only calls on the edu info from the data folder, so if its in a subfolder that may be why its not showing any changes

Re: Unit editing help
C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome Total Realism Platinum Edition\Data is where the export_descr_unit.txt i edit. Is that the right place?
*Update* I added the attribute that causes infantry to be scared of a unit to several units to see if it would work and it did not. i edited the actual file and used Caligula and it still doest work.
