Re: Casterly Rock, House lannister
Sigmund Swann, Lord of Summerhall arrives with a small entourage of fifty Men-At-Arms. He dismounted from his steed and waved for only ten of his men to follow. He approached the gate to Casterly Rock and spoke to the guard there.
Might I be able to enter Casterly Rock? I come here to visit the House Lannister and speak with their Lord.

Re: Casterly Rock, House lannister
the guard saluted, Immediately noticing the coat of arms.
Of course my lord, Follow me.
The guard leads Sigmund into the main halls of casterly rock, then a Personal bodyguard of Henry leads him into Henry's private study. Shelves are filled with ancient books on warfare and tactics, and ancient histories of westeros.

Re: Casterly Rock, House lannister
Sigmund had left his small entourage of ten guards outside the castle before proceeding inside. He walked into the private studies and blinked. He examined some of the titles of texts...some of these he didn't even have. Clearly this Henry fellow enjoyed tactics and warfare as much as he did. He walked in and looked around, wondering where Henry Lannister was.

Henry walked out from behind one of the shelves.
Welcome to casterly rock, I believe I have the honour of meeting one of my cousins bannermen. Pardon me if I am wrong, but I assume you are the lord Swann?

Re: Casterly Rock, House lannister
Sigmund blinked. The Lannisters were cousins of the Baratheons? Gawen needed to tell more about the family to him. He nodded to Henry.
Yes I am, Sigmund Swann, Second in Name. I am the brother-in-law to Gawen Baratheon...my sister, Sarya is his wife. I never knew that the Baratheons and Lannisters were related. Seems Gawenny needs to tell me more about the family next time I meet him.

Henry laughs
it is a pleasure to meet you lord Sigmund. And yes, it seems my cousin has withheld some information from his bannermen. I am Henry Lannister, the first of his name, my aunt married Gawens father, so I and the baratheons are blood-kin. It is good to meet one of my cousins most trusted bannermen.

Re: Casterly Rock, House lannister
Chief Bannerman to be exact. Gawen gave me that rank due my military capabilities. My sister helps with getting him more into politics...but he is stubborn as ever.
Sigmund smiles and looks around the studies.
Quite a few interesting books you got here...nothing short of the wealth and influence that the Lannisters hold in Westeros.

Henry grins
That sounds like Gawen... Stubborn as ever.
Henry averts his gaze to the books.
thank you, this collection goes back before Aegon and the Conquest, it is quite an extensive collection, and I am proud of it.
You seem like a military man yourself. you are intrested in military scriptures?

Re: Casterly Rock, House lannister
Sigmund looks at Henry.
Its why they call me the Little Bull. My father was the well-known Raging Bull of the Stormlands, the champion of Gawen's father. A top military commander among those lands...respected and feared. Said to have wrestled a bull once and won, earning him the nickname. He taught me everything that was needed to know about warfare and tactics.
Sigmund examines the titles and then looks once more at Lord Lannister.
I have always been searching for more military-related texts. My knowledge on warfare and tactics can never be perfected...but always good to learn more.

Re: Casterly Rock, House lannister
Your houses reputation is well known, you father was a great man, and you look as though you have inherited his prowess. And the strategy of deception, written by a bravosi sellsword, Syrio, is a must have military guide.

Sigmund bows in thanks to Lord Henry.
Tell me what your plans are for the Lannisters. I have been curious about what this House plans to do.

Henry looks curiously at Sigmund
Once the king has asserted his authority, we can measure what his motives are. We are more than likely going to have to have a hand in attacking the greyjoys soon enough, and doing what other house's do. Gather their strength and bide their time.

Sigmund noticed Henry's curious look.
Oh don't give me that look. I am just curious. Not seeking information to blackmail you with at all. I just...wish to know what the Lannisters plan to do.

I did not know your motives, is all. What does your house plan to do Sigmund? Gain power, slow and steady?

Re: Casterly Rock, House lannister
Being the second most powerful house in Stormlands...its more or less holding that power. My younger brother, a dim-witted fool, has already attempted that. It is a matter of keeping my position as a close advisor to my brother-in-law, Lord Gawen Baratheon and keeping another position as Chief Bannerman...the military commander of half the Stormlands forces.
