Faction completely rebels!?

I got a message at the start of a turn saying 'Norway is destroyed'. I thought this was strange, as I remember watching them move a huge army into Denmark during their turn, and they also have alot of regions. I used toggle_fow to see what had happened, and ALL of their 7-8 regions had fallen under rebel control. It's not even as if they had lost all of their family members, these had turned to rebels aswell

What happened here, some kind of glitch???? I am playing on a mod, but this type of thing has never happened before.

If you are playing on Stainless Steel, it would appear that there is or has been a bug which causes this. Perhaps that is what you have experienced.

Unfortunately it isn't Stainless Steel, but that link describes EXACTLY what happened, perhaps this is a common issue in mods. I sent over an army to try to capture one of the newly-formed rebel settlements, but got swamped by a huge rebel army the minute I landed. It's a shame, because Norway was doing pretty well. I just hope it doesn't happen to any other factions in this campaign

Maybe their family members rebelled or died at the same turn - if the faction gets destroyed, all its´ remaining regions would turn rebel.
But since it´s Norway, or more specifically a mod that features Norway, a glitch/bug would be the likeliest reason, yes.

As a matter of fact, when i got rid of the fog of war to have a look, I did only see 1 family member. It's possible he was their last one, and simply reblled, taking the whole faction down with him. Interesting

Faction leaders can't rebel you know and I don't think a faction can be destroyed without the faction leader dying. This is maybe unless he has 4 children or adopted sons who all died but even then, there is a chance of a man of the hour I guess (if you have more then 1 region, otherwise it's not likely to get one).

Its a good strategy to have if you've got the Patience to train up your Assassins.

Maybe you're confusing family members with non-family generals. Generals and family members look the same on the campaign map. However, even if there are generals still alive, the faction is destroyed if all family members die.
