    And that is correct.

XP-60 was last in line of Curtiss' attempts to succeed their immensely successful Hawk/Warhawk series. The XP-60 variants were equipped with several different engine configurations, XP-60C being the one with P&W R-2800-53 radial engine with contra-rotating propellers, although originally it was planned to use massive, 2500 horsepower Chrysler XIV-2220 engine that was in development at that time. Other variants used different R-2800 variant with four-bladed propeller, and Allison V-1710-75 liquid cooled engine with different superchargers.

In the end, after several years of development, the XP-60 did not offer any advantage over existing US fighters, and development was stopped.

    Your turn.
Edit: sorry, can't rep you yet.

Still can't rep you. It shouldn't be the main focus of this game either. Pretty sure no one participating in these games got all the rep they are "entitled" to.

It's kinda back and forth between us lately, isn't it...

The rapid development in 1930's resulted in US army looking for future replacement for its B-10 bombers almost as soon as they entered service. Three planes entered competition, Douglas DB-1, Boeing model 299 and Martin 146. Even though Boeing 299 was favored, its crash due to negligence disqualified it, and competition was won by Douglas DB-1, becoming B-18 Bolo. However, Boeing model 299 was developed further, becoming the famous B-17. Martin 146 was discontinued after competition with only one prototype built.

    Your turn.

Since the image on the wiki page is exactly the one Chesser posted I'm just going to assume I won and post an image to move things along.
