Toxotoi phauloi are still good archers, the aristoi are just even better, the 'top class'.

actually in this case I would imagine that both terms (aristoi and phauloi) are not a reference to their skills with the bow, but rather to their social standing...

thus aristoi are (or should be seen as) noblemen/richmen who can afford better armor and more time to train, whereas I would imagine phauloi (base or lowly) would be poor men or serfs who are just given a bow, a few arrows and their master's best wishes for survival through battle

Still, I have two other "objections" (or questions): I am not sure what "barutes" refers to and the same goes for the term "epibolai"... anyone can clarify this?

I think "barutes" refers to the greek word "barus", which means as much as heavy

I'll own up - I made a couple of spelling errors when I originally did the units. It should be akontistai, and it should be bareis. This will be corrected. 'Epibolai' roughly means 'levies', though a more literal translation would be 'people thrown at the enemy'.

'Aristos' means 'best' or 'noble'. 'Phaulos' means 'light'. So you have 'noble archers' and 'light archers'.

We hope to release a version for 1.5 soon after, but yes, the first version will be for 1.6

oh these previews look soooo good. just one question, you guys dont have your files loaded up into packs do you? cause thats kind of annoying if we notice a problem and try to quick fix it and have to use xpak, then things are just complicated.

So far, all files are not in .pak files as BI 1.6 does not have .pak files like 1.5. So quick patching will occur when they are mad available.

Have seen a lot of stats far different from those I have given to you. (For example dorytai apollonioi).
I hope you have tested these. For example Dorytai apollonioi are way overpowered now.

Your stats made the levies the best troops, but like you said, you were balancing blind. I had to rework most of them, and they seem to work quite well now, though i still have to go back and fix errors. For a while everybody was too even and non of the shock troops made any real difference compared to levies. Now there are a select few units more superior to the others, but not invincible. I notice that there are stupid mistakes i forgot to change - like the same defence values for the trojan archers.

Phthia has not been shown, and I temporary forgot who Diomedes belongs to, but they are coming quickly.
