and there is some early 90s stuff that took over the "ghost"

and to the end of 90s this can't be missed

Yeah, 80s kinda darkness ...
80s bands like The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, New Model Army and Sisters of Mercy but also The Mission prepared some of the dark'ish 90s stuff.

Sure, you are right.

All that came also because of Joy Division as avantgarde in the genre, and other 70s dark'ish bands ... summarized as New Wave, later then called the various "Independent" styles.

Yes, there is so much more. We don't have the time to put them all in here

Early on stuff of 60s and 70s layed the roots, like The Doors (and according films)

Personally i like PUSH from The Invisible Spirit (1986) much, a classic on each Dark Wave/Gothic (...) evening here in the region.
