Consul Aquila stops by to visit the new senator.

The consul is met by a very enthusiastic and energetic young boy who had been until his arrival prancing around swinging his wooden sword with joy as he prepared for training with his father later that afternoon. He was used to political and military figures visiting the home and was quick to assume he was coming to meet with his older brother Numerius;

"Welcome Sir, I will take you to my brother..."

Aquila was taken through a rather sun-lit corridor which snaked through the central complex of the villa, before finally being shown into a very worn but cozy looking study where Numerius was hard at work scanning some various scriptures he had found in the family library, his face lit with warmth and kindness as he smiled at his guest. He then proceeded to reach out for a mannerly shake;

"Ah, Consul Aquila, I hope your journey here wasn't too arduous? What brings you to my humble Villa?"

[Okmin]

Aquila shook Numerius' hand. "I simply wished to welcome you back to Rome. It seems this year is a season for people to come to the city. Your young brother is quite enthusiastic, by the way."

[Roxas]

"Many thanks that you would spare thine time to visit me, I had not planned to return to Rome this late into the political season but I was rather ermmm- distracted by some various events that occurred on my time overseas."

He turned to see his brother as full of life as usual; smiling as he thanked him for bringing his esteemed guest to his study;

"Ah, Tiberius is quite a handful when he's not kept busy by his swordsmanship training, he has an avid devotion to training to join the legions when he grows up."

He then turned to see that he had prepared a tray of wines earlier for his enjoyment, but was rather glad he had gotten round to slurping it all down for himself. He picked it up; offering the tray that had two rather elegant goblets filled with a very aromatic wine he had procured that morning from the markets,

"Care for some wine?"

[Okmin]

"Well, perhaps he will be a great soldier in the future." Aquila took a goblet, sipped, and sighed appreciatively. "Thank you. It is good to know the storms did not hinder your journey too much. Have you any plans, now that you are back in Rome?"

[Roxas]

"Well I am hoping to campaign and try and obtain some sort of military command some time in the near future when my popularity and influence within the senate grows.."

He sighed, it would be a long and weary road until he would reach that goal;

"In the meantime, I hope to draft some proposals regarding membership into the legions and increased expenditure on the military capabilities of Rome, yet for now I will try and get my name on a few bills put forward by some of the more respected gentlemen of the senate and use my office to good use if needs be."

[Okmin]

"A good plan. Better than mine. I happen to have none at the moment." Aqulia laughed and took another drink of wine. He swirled the drink and thought for a moment. He continued slowly. "Actually... I'm planning a dinner with some friends and allies in the senate to discuss just that; plans I mean. If we can count on your support, I would like to invite you as well."

[Roxas]

Numerius guessed where this was going; these were the sort of opportunities he would have to seize and be content with for the moment. He grinned only ever so slightly;

"I would be interested in coming along to give my input if needed and support thy's plans; I can only trust that they are beneficial to Rome?"

[Okmin]

Aquila smiled wryly. "But of course. To the Republic." He raised his goblet.

[Sonke]

Burcanius arrives to see the Senator.

[Roxas]

Burcanius is also shown to the same study, squatting in the rear section of the villa, where Numerius is pondering over some household matters. His face turns from a frown to a smile as he notices his guest, joyfully gesturing for him to take a seat and make himself comfortable.

"Ah Senator, It is good to see you; what brings you to my humble villa?"

[Sonke]

Burcanius came in. Burcanius is not so cheerful
''I'll be direct. Why did you Veto the ProConsul's idea for a pre-emptive strike against the Thracians?''

[Roxas]

"As I mentioned in the senate, the Bill the consul put up for vote was flawed in it's wording and was not phrased in the correct manner as the original proposal was. If the small flaw is amended then I have no reason to Veto any further and it will have my support."

[Sonke]

''What is the Flaw then?''

[Roxas]

"The original bill was as follows..."

Pro-Consul Lucullus shall be granted the Imperium to defend Graecia et Asia from the Thracian threat by pre-emptively striking at them before they can muster an invasion force.

"Which has now changed to.."

-The Senate and People of Rome declare open war against the Nation of Thrace
-Publilus Sempremonius Lucullus will be given imperium to invade Thrace and defeat any opposition he finds there.

"If the original proposal is put up for vote and not this rather weak amended one, then I will support it fully."

[Sonke]

''The original would suggest, that we would do the strike and then retreat. That is a big flaw.''
