    AVRELII DOLABELLIONES
*Dolabella means hatchet (little ax) and was the
name given to Aulus' ancestor by his fellow
bussinessman, since he used to be a lumberjack
    back in Capua.
    Family:

The villa's door was opened by the atriense, the most important slave of the Villa. He was a big, gentle gaul from the Po valley called by his masters, Rix. The slave pays a reverence to the visitor, and lead him to the Villa's roofed coutyard, where the visitors had to wait to be presented to the Aurelii. "Excuse me, dominus, may I ask your name to introduce yourself to my masters?" mumbled the slave Rix to Quintus Valerius

Valerius replys without looking at the slave.

"Consul Quintus Valerius Vospicus, here to see Senator Dolabella"

Rix leaves the room bowing to the Consul, never turning his back to Valerius. Moments afters, the elder Senator Dolabella Claudus, cripples in the guest room, aided by a young slave to walk. Knowing the rank of his guest, Marcus Aurelius salutes him according to it.

"Welcome, Consul Valerius, to my humble home" Claudus turns to whisper some orders to the slave besides him "What a honor, to have such a guest, Consul! What could bring such an important person to my house"?

"Aurelius, thank you for receiving me today, even though I came unannounced, I am sorry for that. But I heard about your times with the storm and came to ask if you needed anything?" "I know you have a young son who is just entering the Senate, perhaps I can help both of you out. Also, please do not go through all the formalities with me, I know you are not in the best of health, so please make your self as comfortable as you can."

"Thank you, thank you Consul" says Claudus, flopping down in a chair. Aurelius is breathing, agitated. The senator mopped his brow. He looks tired. "Don't worry about coming here unnanounced, you know, this is your house" Marcus Aurelius tries to outline a smile, he is gasping heavily. "You're are always welcomed" He adds, taking a deep breath.

"About the storm? happen" Marcus starts to laugh, but it soon becomes a strong coughing "All my fortune was lost in that storm, Valerius, 4 million sesterci in wheat and slaves and cinnamon and silk!" Marcus emits a disconsolably laugh "Anyway... Fortuna was kind... to me. You know, I was in one of those ships, and my son, Aulus, was there, too. I love the sea, Valerius, I love to travel, as much as I love this City..." The Senator sighs, he has a sad look in his eyes,"But I'm too old, Valerius, I don't have the energy of my youth," Marcus grabs his left leg, as if it was aching, "and this thing doesn't help me, either."

Quintus is distraught about the older man's condition.
    "
As you love to travel, perhaps you could make it down to the Terme de Saturnia? It is perhaps half a day ride in buggy down by the coast, they might do your leg and lungs well. It is never a bad idea to get out of the city, especially during the summer when it becomes so muggy and the smells from the ports and wharfs come from the east."

"But I am here to try and help financially and in the Senate as well. I believe there is still a Aedile magistrate open. You or your son could hold games under the power of that office for no cost to yourself. It is a good way for a young Senator to make himself known to the people. I have made many contacts over the course of the years supporting the games myself so I could help out there. Some Senators do not see the use in keeping the people in good spirits. Panem et circenses, Keep them fed and entertained and they will be content. The bets might even be a benefit, although most years it is a wash. Does this seem like an idea that might be useful to you or your son?"

"Of course, consul.. I thought you were proposing it to me... And in my current state I think I would have regretfully declined it... So in that matter I'm glad" The senator laughs "I'll tell him to visit you as soon as I see him, Consul Valerius"

A slave walks into the room where the Senator and the Consul are talking

"What?! You piece of..." The Senator smashed the young slave with his scipio, hitting him at his right arm "..Good-for-nothing!

The slaves leaves a silver plate with wine, glass cups and apetizers, and quickly hurries to walk out the room, rubbing the arm where the Senator hit him

"These slaves... How ungrateful..." Marcus Aurelius says, talking to himself, then, the Senator lends to Valerius a glass cup full of wine "Wine, Consul?"

"Yes, yes of course," Quintus accepts a glass.
"No, I see now that your injuries will most likely force you into the background, which is unfortunate, luckily you have a son who is of age to continue your to keep your family notable."
He motions towards the door the slave left from.
"You must also now be more vigiliant of them too, they may try to take advantage of your current situation."

"This thing?" Marcus Aurelius Dolabella Claudus points at his leg, laughing"I've been crippled since I was a young Roman full of dreams" the Senator sighed, smiling, as remembers his days of young, do you have enough time, Consul, if so, I could tell you one story of two! " Marcus Aurelius laughs, he was definitely such an easy-going person.
