James is something of a loner, one of the few in the english wizarding world who didn't go to hogwarts he was taught by his mother. At the age of eleven - when he would have gone - his mother was bitten by a warewolf. It was a bit during an incomplete transformation, leaving her something between a ware and a human. The potion that calms warewolves was one of the first that James learned to make, though he was always far better at wand magic. With the caution breed out of avoiding the wizarding world James knows little of the actual comings and goings of the magic world, but with his mothers death two months before, has decided to enter the world. He has a vague ambition of teaching at hogwarts, born out of his avoidance of the place, but is unsure if he'd ever be any good.
