I hope CA starts to implement Testing the same way mod teams do.

Ie... multiple countries all testing the same version by downloading it.

Its riskier but it can be controlled and it lets a much wider and experienced tester base have a go at the game.

Yes, but then how do you control these testers from not selling a beta version of the game? I am sorry, I want to play this game as much as you, but the day that CA puts that much faith in their testers is the day they start making historically accurate units. Wont happen

    Like the other guys said.

    Lawsuit.

Give every tester a subtly different version.. be it a filename or a spelling error somewhere and if an ilegal copy turn up find out wich testers copy is the same and then get the lawyers involved.

That's not quite correct my good man, regarding Med 2 it's 'developed and tested in Australia'

'Floozy' now there's a word that my mum or gran use, I wonder if our American visitors would be familiar with said word, incase they are not, how about 'Trollop' instead.

But what if someone breakes in and steals they computer.
Or their computer breakes down, they take it to the shop, and someone copys the game. Things may still happen regardless of how honest the testers are.

I presumed that these Beta testers were testing at CA's offices, using CA's Computer's and that's why they have to be local, unless CA have a policy of not dealing with Beta testers over the internet, so you have to meet up with them before you get your Grubs on the goods so to speak?

When a company like this asks for Beta testers, are they usually paid? (that's if it's in house testing). excuse my ignorance!

It can all be planned for.

Have it in the NDA that if their computer breaks down then they must either A. remove said software. or B. not repair it untill CA releases the game.

That might not sound fair but being a tester is a completely Volunteer based thing... its like joining the army... you have to realise that you might actualy get asked to go to war....

Besides... the chances of somebody having their comp stolen with a beta of mtw2 on it and that the crook is actualy competent in computer games and realises that mtw2 has not yet been released.

Also to mention that of all the games that have released betas they generaly arent the Full game or even 1/10th of it.... meaning that its still a lot better to just go buy it.

Development has probably been shared at several points so i wasnt willing to give one side credit and not the other.

It makes sence that the aussies would need the limeys opinions and skills at certain points since they had created the original game.

Too bad it's all in Brisbane because I was going to say: "QUICK! Send them our best players! And be sure to dispose of the ones who might complain about the game playing too slowly!"
A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side.

Or Melbourne. The further away you get from it the worse the country gets, and the further north, the more barbarian it becomes (going west it becomes more of a backwater).
