She sees herself as the savior of the people and does not want to resort to cruelty. She believes that she can win the people over by showing compassion and mercy. The problem is that complying with her runs directly contrary to the personal interests of the slave owners. I also understand her not wanting to kill the children serving as her cup bearers. However, what she should have done is come up with some other form of non-fatal punishment to inflict on them, like possibly forbidding them to return home until the killings cease. Also, having the children serve as cupbearers is a remarkable opportunity that she is wasting. Raise the children to believe in your perspective after you have already taken them away from their parents and when the current generation dies out, you will have a compliant nobility. I myself do believe she should have stripped the nobles of their titles if she did not want to outright kill them and replace them with her own supporters. I myself might have tried her approach but when it became apparent that it would not work, I would have changed my approach and gotten much more harsh. I personally think that Daario is right. All King's are butchers, its the ones who like it we call mad or cruel. What she needs to show the people is that she is a kind and compassionate ruler, but can get tough and brutal when she needs to. However, from what she says during her last POV chapter, I believe she has learned from her mistakes and will change her approach. I believe that she will try to convince Khal Jhaqo to side with her. The appearance of a Dragon will certainly be enough to get him to at least talk to her and as long as she stays close to Drogon, all she needs to do is mount him and take off and the Dothraki will be unable to fight her. Also, I do not think that Jhaqo was one of Drogo's bloodriders, they were all killed in the fight with Danny's bodyguards trying to stop Meeri Maz Duur's blood magic. While this is the wisest choice, I do not know if it will be what she will do. She holds a grudge against them and has sworn vengeance against them for Ereoh. However, if she convinces them to join her, however, then that is the game changer right there. She can fall on the rear of the slavers while they are distracted fighting against Barristan's sally. I am also convinced that Tyrion will convince the Second Sons to turn their cloak again. Victarion will arrive at some point as well. Victarion is a superior admiral and they are not expecting his attack. Combine those two, and you have an unstoppable force that will crush the slaver fleet. The better part will be if she manages to fool the Slavers into thinking that that Dothraki horde is actually on their side.
