Michigan is 26th state of USA. It became a state in 1837.
The French were the 1st to settle in the area in 17th century. In 1763 after the end of 7 Years War its territory east of the Mississippi River was ceded to the British Empire. It was later in 19th Century ceded to the new nation USA to which it has remained till this day.
At the turn of the 20th century the Michigan's economy started to grow. Especially with the automotive industry. it also increased the immigration. Both from the USA and other lands. By 1920 Detroit was the 4th biggest city in USA.

Great Moravia

A west Slavic state in the later dark ages. It began as two small principalities, Moravia and Nistra, which then united in 830's to become Great Moravia, replacing the power vacuum left behind by the Avars and at the same times adopted christianity. The state was a vassal of the Frankish kingdom, but relations were not always good. In fact, the Moravian monarchs attempted to lean more to the side of the Eastern Romans, when the Franks themselves had forged an Anti-Moravian alliance with Bulgaria. The Magyar migration gradually ended the state in 10th century, and it's lands were integrated to Hungary and Poland. Moravia later appeared as a state inside the Holy Roman empire.

Republic of Pskov

Republic of Pskov currently is part of Russia. It joined Novgorod for more than 100 years, but it gained independence again in 1348. In 1510 its independence was lost to Muscovy till this day. But since 1399 Muscovy already had a big influence over it. The current Pskov Oblast's territory is almost the same as Republic of Pskov had.
Pskov's earliest mention was in 903 and it's also considered as its foundation date.

Karelia

A federal subject republic inside Russia, Karelia is an ethnically diverse state, but one with a very small population. Karelians were one of the major Baltic Finn tribes during early middle ages, being in league with the republic of Novgorod against the aggressive Tavastians of the west. After Tavastia was incorporated to Sweden in the 13th century, the conflict between the kingdom and Novgorod moved to Karelia. Karelia would then be a land divided between west and east, although the greater amount of Karelia remained in Russia, while the core regions were most of the time under Sweden and Finland. Today, nearly all the lands of Karelia are included in Russia. The Karelian culture is a one not feeling very well, for the Karelians themselves are a minority in the republic, and the Karelian language isn't the official language of the state.

Bactrian kingdom

Bactrian kingdom was the the easternmost part of the Hellenistic world. It was located in Central Asia.
It gained independence from the Seleucid Empire around 250 BC. It became one of the richest Kingdoms in the region which also expanded to the East and the West.
In 180 BC Bactria invaded India and occupied some parts of Northern India. There was the Indo-Greek Kingdom established which lasted for almost 2 centuries. From 162 BC nomadic tribes started to invade Bactria and till 70 BC all Bactria was lost. Only the Indian holdings were left till 10 AD.
