Enemy at the Gates is really good. If you for some reason have not seen them: Gladiator & King Arthur are decent. Though they aren't exactly historically accurate they have some good fight scenes.

Here are my favorite war movies:

    Patton
    Saving Private Ryan
    Good Morning Vietnam
    The Dirty Dozen
    Full Metal Jacket
    Enemy At The Gates
Pearl Harbour(not really a war movie more of a romance)

it really depends on what you're after:

    WW2: That would mean

Tora Tora Tora (nothing like the emo-tripe of Pearl harbour)
Stalingrad (about Stalingrad, not about a duel of 2 persons in a battle with 1 million victims)
    Cross of Iron (Pekinpah-'nough said)
    Das Boot
When trumpets fade (a gruelling account of the one of the last big battles on the western front)
Band of brothers is a good as a tv series can get.

On older conflicts I would suggest Waterloo by Bondarchuk and about Vietnam Apocalypse now and Full metal Jacket.

Stay away from cheap porn like Black Hawk Down.

On WW1 there's not that much, probably just go with "All quiet on the western front", "The Lost Battallion" and "Gallipoli". For the Korean war there's "Pork Chop Hill" and the somewhat overlong and emotional korean movie "Brotherhood".

    I would recommend:

    - Apocalypse Now
    - Band of Brothers
    - Bridge On the River Kwai
    - Das Boot (Extended)
    - Der Untergang
    - Full Metal Jacket
    - Glory

    - Ni Liv (English: 'Nine Lives'; based on the book 'We Die Alone' by David Howarth.
    - Platoon
    - Saving Private Ryan
    (first twenty minutes)
    - Stalingrad
    - The Guns of Navarone
    - The Longest Day
    - Tora! Tora! Tora!
