    Processor: Intel Core i5 2500K Processor LGA1155 CPU
    Graphics card: nVidia GTX 560 Ti 1 GB

    RAM: 4GB of 1333 MHz DDR3 Corsair RAM

    Still deciding on case and power supply, also will probs need a cooler for processor.

    2600k is better bet then 2700k its cheaper both reach the same Overclocks so paying more is kinda worthless

    Ivy Bridge launches on the 23rd,

    Z77 is fine, best board ive found for the price is the Biostar Z77XE4
    wrong error error 2x2gb or 2x4gb or 4x2gb or 4x4gb no 3x anything, try for 1866Mhz 2x4gb for best results, low profile so coolers will fit.

    could wait for Ivy Bridge but from the looks it runs a bit hotter then Sandy Bridge and reaches the same average overclock, its not fantastic but it is 5-15% faster at the same clock speeds so may be worth the wait since Ivy Bridge CPUs launch the 23rd now.
    CPU: i7 3770K 4.6GHz / i7 4930K 4.4 GHz / i7 4770K 4.6 GHz

    I didn't buy the RAM it was given to me for free The RAM is 1333 MHz and 2048 MB. If Ivy Bridge comes out will that bring down the price of older CPU's? I've been waiting for so long I don't want to wait any longer :'(. I'll check out the motherboard you listed.

    I'm considering getting i5 instead, people are telling me I won't really need i7

    no Ivy Bridge wont drop prices Intel will just discontinue Sandybridge replace it with Ivy Bridge

    need proof look up prices on Q9450 etc from socket 775 lol still $300 for one of those chips new

    if your just gaming

    2500k + Z77 will do you just fine. and cheap coolermaster hyper 212+ will let you hit 4.2GHz + if you get a good chip 4.5+ is doable,

    That's my plan . Going to get i5 2500k and overclock it to around 4.2. BTW what's with people having a SSD and a HDD?

    I have 512gig of SSD (2 in raid 0) + a 3tb HD.

    The SSD gets stuff I use/play, the 3tb gets the extra mod folders, downloads, and the like.

    And yea thats kinda showing off but thats how I'd set it up even using a smaller SSD. The load times are so much nicer.

    SSD = .01 ms latency
    HDD = 14.00ms latency

    SSD = Max Read / Write 300-550MB/s
    HDD = Max Read / Write 130 MB/s

    essentially the OS and key apps like photoshop etc running on an SSD make windows your web browser etc feel faster takes less time to boot etc,
    hdd has capacity used mostly for storage and steam games etc, together it offers speed / storage / etc.

    with a 120GB HDD theirs space left for a few games examples would be for me anyway Origin i only have BF3 installed and having it on the SSD has improved load times.

    theirs also SSD caching aka install OS to the HDD along with all apps and then use a 60gb SSD using Z68 or Z77 as a cache drive which then puts your most used data onto the SSD for far faster access times.

    I may have extra cash left over but I want to keep it. Still undecided on SSD. I have friends that keep bugging me to get an SSD and a HDD

    then get a cheaper Sata III 60gb ssd for cheap and just use the Intel cache feature, install OS on the HDD along with all games, use the low capacity SSD as a giant super fast cache, bam best of both worlds

    60gb Mushkin SSD

    64gb Crucial SSD bit more reliable then sandforce but for a cache drive it doesnt matter
