Will you guys have classical greek music (I.e; like that on Musik de la Grece Antiqua?) in this mod, or are you having a composer, or no new music at all?
I don't think this has been covered here, which is why i ask.

I have several ancient Greek music CDs. I highly recommend "Secular Music of Greek Antiquity" vol 1 and 2 by composer Petros Tabouris. The music is truly haunting and listening to it makes me feel really connected with my ancestors.
Also, the soundtrack to Oliver Stone's film, "Alexander" is brilliant. The composer Vangelis has written and performed all the music and there are some cool pieces written for the battle scenes.

P.S. If anyone hasn't seen the film "Alexander" by Oliver Stone, get your arses into a video store and rent it or buy it! It's the best film about ancient Greece and Alexander I have ever seen. My fave film ever!!! ...but I'm getting off the topic.
we have already collected a number of music already....we will have to pick those needed out from the wholeOriginally Posted by MithradatesVI

heavy metal is not bad idea![]()
some Manowar perhaps ''kill with poweeeeerrrrrr....''
Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time
That woudl be hilarious. Uranos makes this great map, we spend a year making units and coding, event screens, pretty buttons and scream at eachother in debate over accuracy, all to have a heavy metal soundtrack![]()
Believe in Hegemonia... Or the Megarian will get you.

I can not believe there are quite a few people out there who do not like the film Alexander! What's wrong with it? So much work was put into making it historically and culturally accurate. I loved the fact that they showed Alexander's private and emotional life as well as action battle scenes. Okay, it is a long film but it's an epic, it's supposed to be. I hope you boys aren't upset that they show Alexander to be bisexual because most of the ancient Greeks were, it was normal for them. They weren't christians. If only our society could look more to the ancient Hellenes for guidance, the world would be a better place.
Anyway don't mean to sound preachy at all. I just love the film and it's sad it got a bad rap in the media b/c it really is something special. I actually saw it five times at the cinema!! I was going every week. And I have two copies of it on DVD....![]()
Getting back to the music topic, fair enough that we can't use copyright stuff. I agree that heavy metal prob wouldn't suit. Someone mentioned Manowar. I have their album "Triumph of Steel". There's a song about Achilles that goes for 28 mins! It's called "Achilles: Agony and ecstasy in eight parts". Brilliant! The 'Death of Patroclus' and 'Funeral March' is heart wrenching! If you're obssessed with the Iliad like me, definetely listen to this song.

See, the ancient Greeks had cool gods!
Hate to spoil this for you Mainad, but there are quite a few people that don't particularly like the movie.
A long film which many people, includiing myself, find boring, a few battles and a lot of "behind the scenes" play... A movie that long should have included many more scenes from Alexander's campaign, not only the 2-3 battles shown....
Historically accurate you say? Again highly debatable...
Anyway, to get back on topic, someone is working on the music for the mod...
