Reducing Assassination Chance

Hi

Is there a way I can stop or reduce the chances of a successful assassination? I stopped playing this game some time ago because the ai seemed to be able to assassinate any of my generals at will even with agents protecting them (I forget the name of the agent, but I heard it would protect against assassination and it didn't help).

Ninja, Shinobi or Ishi-something (FoTS) will reduce chance of assassination, you should 2 at least 2 of them to protect important general/daimyou, 1 of them to assassinate enemy ninja.
