    Default Strange CTD

    Hi RS Team

I am getting a strange CTD. When I click on Publius Cornelius Scipio (the younger from Sicily) I am getting a CTD. It also happens when he is in any city and I am clicking the building picture or recruitment picture in the UI. It is only him and it only happens after several game turns / years. I did a bit of RPG with this character, therefore he has several stars and lots of traits I beliefe. Well his name usually comes up at the beginning of turn notifications. I am at AUC 563. Any ideas ? I am playing RS2.5. Faction Rome and 0 turn.

Thanks for RS2.5 it is excellent. I cant stop playing

Somehow, that character has gotten corrupted. Kill him. Or, your save is corrupted....go back to an earlier save. No earlier save? Kill campaign.

This has happened to me several times when the character in question dies but is not removed from the game. Sometimes you get a ghost-portrait (The same portrait a dead faction/family member would receive on the Family Tree screen); Sometimes they receive just a default (red) legion flag.

The answer, just like the answer to all of RSIIs problems, is to ignore him until you find a turn when you can click on him then send him directly to the Bireme of death Glory Cruise to beset all foes with furious naval might!

I had an issue with the same character which resulted in corrupting my save, luckily I had an earlier save point, I found out that I had Father and son with the same name even though I have 2.5, I thought this only happened before 2.5, anyway the corruption occurs when the father (faction leader) dies, I wondered how the Scpio family got to be the ruling family anyway, so I just reloaded and appointed a hair to the throne from the same family my campaign had at that point and everything went smoothly.

No it happens with the script if you neglect to enable it. You must enable the script every time you play to avoid exactly this situation. I guess lucky that you hadn't gone too far in and had a good save.
