So we have a requirement to use EPE/FDE at work. I have ubuntu which wasn't encrypted when I installed originally. and at Home I have Win7/Mint 11 which also isn't encrypted.

So I was planning to use TrueCrypt for both machines which raises a few points.

1. Ideally it should be done when the OS is installed, with my work laptop, given ubuntu 12.04 is in final beta, I can possibly hold off until that is released, backup my current drive and then reinstall 12 with FDE then.

2. For my home desktop, I'm tempted to replace Mint with Ubuntu 12 now anyway, but if I encrypt from the Win7 partition and do a whole disk encryption does that affect my other OS? I can find that out on googe=le so not really asking how to do that.

Anyway, my question, has anyone here used TrueCrypt and more especially with a dual boot windows/linux where it boots from grub. I have a feeling that is a problem and I may need to replace that with the windows boot loader instead.
