    Default The Great Lake

The Black Lake (alternatively known as the Great Lake Dpends on if you go for movie or books) is a large body of water located to the south of the castle. It is about half a mile in diameter and the Hogwarts plumbing network drains into it. Every school year at Hogwarts, first years sail across the lake to the castle led by Rubeus Hagrid in boats as per Hogwarts tradition. When they got to the school, they are then Sorted into their houses.

After some hours there(If one wish some Rp you can interrupt in these.) she walked away with The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 3
by Miranda Goshawk a third year book Intermediate Transfiguration plus a copy of the History of Hogwarts and A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot and lastly a old dusty book on the creation of magical items.. She then made for the peace and quiet by the lake where she would read to her hearts content. And it was there she could be found a lot of the time, reading.
Evie, arrived at the lake with an exhausted look on her face. Classes all day and carrying all the newly borrowed books all the way here had worn her out and she still had numerous homework assignments she needed to complete. Her bag weighed heavily on her shoulders as she neared her favorite spot by the lake, a spot in the sunlight, yet still under partical shadow by a lone tree. She dropped her bag on the ground. "Thud!" The sound from the weight hitting the ground. What a relief to get it all off. She looked down at her books and gave a quick smile. Her hair was in a messy bun on top of her head and had been flopping annoyingly at the back of her head. The long day had taken a toll on her personal appearance. She relieved the bun and let her hair fall down. The white straight mane of messy hair hit her back and fell loosely around her. She stretched her back and rubbed her eyes slightly sleepy, gave a soundless yawn and just felt good. She then sat down with the delicious books.

This is where people would be able to find her most often, reading by the tree, by the lake. In her much too big robes in the summer and the winter.

She had so much to study...

Weatherby Wiggins strolled down to the banks of the lake, partaking in one of his usual walks across the school grounds. The lake was one of his usual stops - he enjoyed gazing listlessly across the waters, hoping that one time he could catch a glimpse of the Giant Squid, who had eluded him since his first arrival over a year ago.

This year, he was joined by the newest Wiggins on campus, Waverly. As the two approached the waters, she spotted the flash of white hair marking Evie's position by the lake. "Oh look! Someone had the same idea as us. I think I recognize her from class."

Weatherby nodded absently. "Why don't you go say hello, then?"

Waverly smiled brightly and bounded, nearly skipping, over to the white-haired girl while Weatherby wandered lazily further down the bank. "Hello! I recognize you from class. I'm Waverly."

Ashley was walking the Courtyard when she sees Weatherby by the lake. She walks down and waves to him. "Trying to find the Squid again?" Behind her, one could see three Slytherin second years, Violeta being one of them, holding an umbrella to keep the sun off her face as she walks. They seem immersed in their own conversation about something.

Cecil marched down the path to the Lake's banks, whistling the whole way down and hoping to relax after a long day of studies and classwork. A smile crossed his face as Weatherby, Waverly and Ashley all came into sight, and he waved over at them. Only later did he notice the presence of the white-haired Hufflepuff First Year whose name escaped him, and behind Ashley Violeta and a number of other Slytherin Second Years.

"Hey everyone. What're you all doing here, looking to find the Giant Squid?"

Evangelina looked up from her book to see who had approached her, after some time she held a hand up to block the sun so that she could see who it was. A smile formed as her eyes adapted and she could see the girl in front of her. She put the book she had been reading aside and stood up to introduce herself.
    "Hi! I remember you too
    !"
She was not used to socializing and was very much scared of doing so, but she hid all that doubt and fear somewhere deep, she was a Hufflepuff, she was a silver and she really wanted friends. She put her hand out in an effort to shake the girls hand.
    "I'm
Evangelina, Hufflepuff Firstyear. Nice to meet you!" When even more arrived she got really nervous but crammed it together in a ball in her stomach, she felt like puking, but she showed nothing, these people were nice and wanted her no harm. She repeated this a few times and smiled to the new potential friend once more.

The Slytherins was here too it seemed a popular spot. A good place to work with her social fear.

The three Slytherins stare over at the tree and see her. Violeta rolls her eyes, slightly annoyed. "What are you two looking at?" "That girl..she has white hair." "Probably mixed up some spell or potion and that is a side-effect..doubt it's real." "Probably. Or is a mudblood who dyed it." "That is also a possiblity." The three then resume their original discussion as they keep walking towards the lake.

"Hey Cecil. I think Weatherby is trying to, I'm just out here for a walk."

A levitating flower made its way through the air. It cut a constant path at a constant speed. It was a small, speckled Howthorn flower with a creme tone and pleasant scent. It hovered in front of Ashley, but eventually came to rest delicately upon Violeta's head, gently fastening itself to one of her locks. Once the flower had landed, Atticus stepped out from behind a nearby tree and made his way over to the growing group, tucking his wand away into his robes.

Good afternoon, everyone. Having a social by the lake and forgot to invite me?

Evangelina looked around her, people were streaming to this place, she closed her jaws shut but managed to keep smiling and stay on the spot and not walking away timidly. The only comfort was that she had seen most of these people before.

Politely socializing. She had to do this. IT was a fight with herself she had to just get over and win.

"Hey Cecil. I think Weatherby is trying to, I'm just out here for a walk."
"Hmm, same here, actually. A nice walk to catch some fresh air and get rid of some stress can do us a world of good, especially after that Herbology class...ugh, I hate mandrakes." Cecil yawned and stretched his tall form, and his movements caused many of his tired joints to 'crack'. "Ah man, I'd love nothing more than to lie down and sleep here right about now, seriously."

Waverly tossed her head to the side, flinging a tassle of her wavy black hair out of her face, blown there by a breeze coming from the lake. "Nice to meet you, Evangelina. I love your hair! It's how I recognized you from so far away. It isn't all boring and plain like mine."

Weatherby gave a half-cocked smile to Ashley and Cecil. "You've got it. That Squid certainly is a shy one. I've been dying to see it again since last year, but haven't had any luck. It's all right though - there are worse ways to spend an afternoon."

He nodded as Atticus approached, his smile nearly forming fully at the Slytherin's clever levitation charm. Atticus was someone he missed, but the black-haired boy seemed more a stranger than a friend nowadays.

"Haha. Maybe try luring it out with fish or whatever they eat from one of those boats we took last year.."

"Hello, Atticus. Thank you for the flower..now that makes two." She gestures to the dark violet one she already had in her hair. "Social? Hardly..they all just happened to be here when we decided to go for a walk."

Sidious was out for a stroll and overheard the conversation and decided to join in since most of his house where there. Or maybe Cecil could take a swim while we wait. He turned to the Griffindor boy. Don't worry mate I'm sure we would save you before it gets you and if not maybe you could show her some of that "Griffindor courage." Sisious said sarcastically with a smile.

Cecil turned to face Sidious, the warmth fleeing from his hardening face. "Yeah? Hey, in the event that I do go out for a swim in the lake, I wouldn't need your help to get out...now if it were you swimming around instead mate, now on the other hand, you might need a couple of Gryffindors to step up and flaunt their 'Gryffindor courage' to bail you out of the Squid's way."

    Sidious laughed.
Now you see that's the difference between us, Slytherins have braaaaaaains so we don't go swimming with giant squids.

He turned away from the Griffindor and went to, Evangelina up hill.

I don't believe we had a chance to speak to one another. So how are you liking Hogwarts? And how come a nice pure blooded talented wizard ended up in a house such as Hufflepuff?

He asked with a warm smile.

Violeta giggles a little as the boys argue over what would happen if one went in the lake. Ashley turns to Weatherby. "Fish could work..would need lot of them though..wonder what transfigued fish would taste like to a squid.."

Evangelina blushed slightly and looked down.. She stood a little uneasy, unsure of what she should reply.. She was happy, this girl seemed really nice. And for the first time she was happy about her hair, because it was the reason the girl had approached her.
"Thank you, I like your hair too, It's not plain at all! My white is something that have always been in our family, I don't know why we Silvers have it.. It is not very fun when you don't want attention.."
She smiled slightly, a little unsure.

Weatherby permitted himself a light laugh while still staring out at the water. "I'll tell you what. If Professor Forsyth ever teaches us how to transfigure things into fish instead of birds, we'll all come out here again and see if we can't get old Squiddy to say hello to us."

"Oh! I don't know why you wouldn't want everyone looking at you when you have hair as pretty as that! I can only imagine how nice you'd look in dress robes with your hair done up all fancy!" Waverly flipped her hair over her shoulders to prevent further strands from drifting into her face. "What are you reading? Studying for class?"

Evangelina looked down now, she had never really owned any dress robes.. Oh the Gryffi girl was so kind, how could one respond?.. She had to hurry.. Evie was a rather timid girl and explaining why she didn't like attention.. Well she couldn't she didn't understand it herself yet. Didn't know what words to use. She smiled, she was happy about the kind words and she hoped the girl could see that, she hurried to look up as to not be rude. She also hoped the girl didn't find her rude..
"I.. Yes, I am preparing... I borrowed some books from the library, from Miss Pice..."

She took up a small stack up books.
"The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 3 by Miranda Goshawk a third year book called Intermediate Transfiguration plus a copy of the History of Hogwarts and A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot. Not light reading, really heavy. But it have much that is worth knowing."

Atticus nodded at Cecil and Weatherby

How have you been? If you two would come down from the tower once every blue moon we might even get a game of Wizard's chess going.

He motioned for Violeta to join them.

Why don't you stay, Violeta? It is a nice day outside. And maybe the squid will show up so I can curse it.
